How much did a new A500 cost anyway? I know the 1000 was like $1200 new! I know if I had spent that much on a 1000 and a boat load of software, I wouldn't sell it for a song either.

What are you supposed to do with something like that?  Take it out of the box and look at it every once in a while?  I'd rather buy a minimig!

Yup! I like to go check out these high roller's feedback to see what else they buy. This person is snatching up mint Amiga like the sun is gonna burn out tomorrow. He's got some good deals in the past though.   :-)

The A500 is hardly rare and was mass produced, so it does seem a little ridiculous. Then again, it is perfect, and I'm sure it will go someplace where it will be well preserved. $365 really isn't that much to blow on a personal hobby... (edit -- not that *I* would buy one at that price! LOL)

However, the price on this stuff does fluctuate quite a bit... odd how one can go for $80, while another fetches $400 (both NIB). ;-)

A few years ago, I picked up a NIB 64C for something like $40-50, when a few weeks prior they were all selling for over $200. Just depends how many people want one all at once, then you have to figure in the shill bids/etc.

Wasn't there a new/boxed A2000 that sold last year??? Something like $600 IIRC. That seems a bit more reasonable.

Hit the nail right on the head there, I'd hate to think what I've spent on my photography over the years, I bet a lot more than people have spent on Amiga collections. And I have my Amiga collection too and a few other hobbies, but none are anywhere near as expensive as photography.

I paid $35 (yes thirty five) for a NIB A500 just like the one in this auction. It came with a NIB 1084S D2! I think you got scammed! :( :("
