WTB: Picasso IV Graphics Card - GOT ONE!! (well, a piccolo)
« on: January 21, 2008, 02:26:54 AM »
Anybody out there got a Picasso IV for sale at a fairly reasonable price, let me know.  Cheers.

Failing that, any Picasso II / II+, or Cybervision 64 / CV643D card will do.

I see these going online for like $400USD so I guess it depends on what we think is reasonable. I'd like to buy one for my A4000 as well but I can't justify that kind of outlay for an Amiga video card.

I know that they are great for Amiga but for that kind of money I can get a high end 3D Nvidia card. And I don't buy any of those either.  :-D

So, if you find a source - color me as Me Too!!!
I think, Therefore - Amiga....

Link for a Piccolo, which is comparable to a PicassoII.

Agreed I would like one as well but their prices are high and they don't come around that often which leads to a mad rush (higher price) to get one.
Goodluck anyway

Careful that link is for a Piccolo not a Picasso IV. A nice card, but not at all the same thing.

@vamigan

A Piccolo 64SD went for $255 last week. I was interested but thought this was a bit steep. I too would prefer a PIV but none are to be found. I settled on a Cybervision 64 3D from Software Hut. They have a few brand new ones left and are selling for $179.

@Retro_71

oops... sorry about that.  :-D

@Jeff

Yes, your right its not a PicassoIV. The Piccolo is more like the PicassoII. Still a great RTG Video Card for an Amiga and the original poster asked for either. But I'll edit my original post and note that its the Piccolo.

At $400....they are a bargain. They are very hard to find.
As for a PC Video card ...for that kind of money you can get a top of the line card from NVIDIA or AMD. I paid les the that for a NVIDIA 8800 GTX.

Cheers

Yesterday I saw a Picasso IV being sold for 261 euros on Ebay.

Which makes me a happy man because I only paid 300 euros for an A4000T with a Picasso IV and an Apollo 4040 accelerator :-)

If you're lucky and prepared to wait you can get a good deal for a PIV. I bought mine for 130 euros on eBay of all places!

€130 is a good deal (at the current exchange rates).

The usual price is about £150 ($300 / €200)
