I'd just like to chime in here and say how happy I am with my 1260 card from PG. His work is top-notch, and the Rev 6 68060 simply rules. (Mine runs at 80MHz without breaking a sweat - in fact, I think 90mHz may be attainable, thanks to the CLK jumper. Also -- raw read speed with an IDE-Fix Express jumps to almost 4.5 MB/s at 80MHz.)

These cards are arguably the best for watching later AGA demos on your A1200.

Im kinda curious about 80 MHz, I have one of these cards myself, bought it from PG and it works great!

Do you notice the speed boost from 50 to 80 MHz in the system? Is it worth the fan noice?

System is fast as hell already, runs of off Compact Flash. Feels like an Amiga on stereoids in hi-res 8 colors.

The system is overall a bit more responsive, icons load faster, anything CPU intensive will benefit somewhat. (As I mentioned above, there's a drastic improvement in IDE performance.) Some demos run better, though anything that's less than fluid at 50 MHz will likely not be 100% perfect at 80.

I'm running mine in a desktop unit, and realistically, it's probably a more worthwhile overclock in a system with a gfx card. (In gfx benchmarks there's very little AGA improvement from 66 to 80 Mhz.)

As for noise, you could probably get away with a low-profile NB cooler and a quiet Pabst 40mm... it runs cool when overclocked, in contrast to the Rev. 1 I had at one time (which was a little furnace at 66 Mhz.)

I think it's worth it at least to try, even settling at 66 or 75 Mhz (with a cooler) is a nice improvement, and pretty safe IMHO.
