I used Kindwords, Pagestream (I know, more than just a word processor) and have seen ProWrite in the past.  I was casting around recently as I was adding software to the A1200T I bought and installed Final Copy version 1.3.  I seem to remember vaguely using it and liking it.

I also always enjoyed CygnusED Pro version 2 for some things.  I always used it when working on fixing the docs that came up managled at times in software.

Windows version is actually pretty good and has better font support. One stupid thing though is it uses as different file format than the Amiga version (but it allows to convert between the two).

Thank you for the information - now I've just to find someone selling his copy. :-) File format doesn't matter, I'd just like to use it for casual smaller documents not worth firing up the emulator, i.e. the stuff I'm doing with Word normally.

I have a copy which has remained unused for years. Still in it's box & big, heavy manual. Because of the weight, I don't think it would be cheap to post but I could check if you want? I would only want £5 + postage, if that's of interest?

I've started playing around alittle with the AbiWord X11 port to OS4, bbut haven't used it much yet.

Hmm, WordWorth 7.01 for me. I have a bit of a 'font fetish',
so being able to use TrueType, PostScript, CG, and even my printer's fonts comes in handy.... And print quality via TurboPrint is excellent....

@ Wildstar

It's sort like a dream remembering how many Amiga dealers that used to be.  There was a dealer in Penn Square too.  They had an A500 and IBM clone sitting side by side both running Battle Chess.  The smooth graphics, integrated sound, and all that power.  First Amiga I had ever seen...

Tried Excellence, Cygnus, GoldEd, Wordworth, X-DME, and Final Copy.  Amigas have great variety, lots of viewers as well.  Final Copy 5 is my most used processor.

Unfortunately, I use the Windows box sandwiched between 2 of my Amigas to do most of my word processing now (Office XP). It just wasn't worth the effort to continue using FW97 since most of my word processing needs are work related and they must be   prepared with Office compatible apps. I used to convert documents back and forth to FW97 but I gave up long ago.

On my Amigas, for home use (programming, websites, family stuff etc) I use CubicIDE & PageStream. Between these 2 programs, they serve all of my needs.

Never really done much Word Processing on the Amiga. But as the topic keeps coming up on the forum and people does seem to think its an important aspect of computing. I would suggest LaTeX, I use LaTeX for writing text, posters and even to make presentations using the excellent Beamer package but on a *nix platform. I know people were using it on Amiga back in the days so I'm sure one can get it running now.

Found this on Aminet, http://it.aminet.net/text/tex/Tex-Setup.readme
Money is just paper but good demos last forever.

I'm trying out different Amiga word processing packages. I've tried the Wordworth 7 beta and am playing around with Final Writer...

BTW, what's the difference between Final Copy and Final Writer. Was it a simple name change or are they completely different products? (At least in TOSEC) Final Writer seems to appear "in the record" at the same time that Final Copy stops, but could that be a coincidence.

Also, can any of these programs use old PC PostScript fonts. I have a crapload of old Adobe and Monotype font disks that might be nice on the Amiga...
