Who the hell buys a product that doesn't do what they want on the promise that it will sometime after they buy it?

I don't see the point of jacking off to a low end ppc board.
Until MorphOS ships with the Efika, it's an exercise in masturbation, period. And it's still an exercise in masturbation to pay good money to run MOS on a low end ppc board.

As opposed to what? Waiting for a second hand Peg, or Peg2 to come up on ebay for £300-ish?
The MOS team have made a great decision in my opinion - support a cheap board which Anyone can afford to buy, and most importantly, is in production. Once MOS is released I will be buying one.
I know , I know - it's not the Amiga way. We are Amigans! We will pay hundreds of pounds for hardware which costs pennies for other platforms.

Also, you seem to have a fixation with calling things an exercise in masturbation.
Personally - and I know this is a bit weird - I prefer sex. Computers are for doing maths and for entertainment.

Look, I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to pine over a board that isn't all that interesting, it's just one board in the giant sea of embedded hardware. I'm not going to buy an Efika on the promise that the software I want to run is going to exist at a later date. This is AmiLand, the land of broken promises.

Lots of people around here bough an efika when it first came out. What do they have right now? A low end ppc linux box. I just can't get pumped up over a low end linux box. I got lots of crap boxes floating around here, i just don't need another linux box. I don't need a mos box either, but i'll buy an efika when it comes with MOS in the box just 'cause it'll be fun.

@bbrv, thats cool the stuff with NI. There are certainly more folks out there looking for labview solutions than amiga oriented customers.

Do you also get upset that noone makes 40 Meg drives anymore,

No, but maybe he gets upset of seeing a 1000 links to blog posts on Amiga sites about a motherboard promising to run MorphOS "real soon now" and it never shows up. Then see's a new one is coming to replace the other one, so it's likely in our typical community fashion that the old one will disappear, MorphOS will never been seen for it, and we will see another 1000 new blog links to Efika 2 and then we'll be waiting  god  knows now how long for MorphOS on Efika 2 to come out "real soon now".

Back in my day, we didn\'t have water. We only had Oxygen and Hydrogen, and we\'d just have to shove them together.
