Interesting read, but it doesn't change the "wait and see" mode. Looking forward to Monday's specs, but it's all "pie in the sky" until you can click that "Buy it now" button.

Having followed this whole new-Amiga thing for a long long time, I'm hoping this sees the light of day.  I'd buy one. (I prefer to be positive)

Well, just the fact that ACK Controls is in Fonthill, Ontario disturbed me a bit. It's hardly the "Computer Capital of Canada" (Toronto-Markham area). In fact, it's not even close. I used to go to Fonthill regularly when I worked for the Ministry of Agriculture. It's a very small town far from big cities, known for its orchards, vineyards, animal feed stores and antique shops.

I guess it's not really necessary to build computers in a big high-tech area, but an isolated farm-location company in partnership with a devious underhanded pseudo-company (Amiga Inc.) doesn't really fill me with confidence.

We'll see. I hope I'm wrong. I hope it's a kick-ass computer and runs AmigaOS 5.0. ;-)

Pretty much. Actually, I was a bit suckered in by the thing at first, after all... an A1200 expansion with PPC, onboard GFX, etc, does sound nice. The possibility of MorphOS on a desktop A1200 was a pretty cool thought to me.

In retrospect, the whole idea seems silly, especially considering somewhat less ambitious designs (like AmiJoe), with seasoned engineers, never made it. The best way to run MorphOS on an A1200 would probably be to hack an Efika into an A1200 case. (Hmmm... done nicely, that might be a seriously cool project.)

Mr. Kowalczyk is very good at writing hardware specifications and making promises. Unfortunately he is also very good at lame excuses and not standing to his promises. He has definitely lost my trust. I'll believe in this if I see it working, no earlier.

They stated the high end board is ~1250 MIPS
