A German hearing it would think it means "Powerw*nking".

They stated the high end board is ~1250 MIPS

Um, no.  This is what Adam said: "The MPC8349 is rated at 1250 MIPS and has faster memory access than the A1."

If you look at the press release for the low end board, you'll see that the MPC8349E is the CPU it uses.  So what Adam stated was that the low end board is ~1250 MIPS.

Please, let's keep the FUD to a minimum.  When you find anything real to gripe about, knock yourself out.  Just don't make #### up.

please see: http://www.architosh.com/news/2002-04/2002c1-0429-rf-g5server.phtml

"A note about performance. The PowerPC 8540 has a MIPs rating of 2315 @ 1 GHz. The PowerPC 7455 (the current G4 chip) has a MIPs rating of 2310 @ 1 GHz. While this is a limited metric in terms of what it means to us end (Mac) users, it is worth noting."

No, that was for the previously announced low end board.

When I see photos of the motherboards, I ought to believe it, and even then nothing is for sure.

I guess it's like the VIC-20, which was released in Germany as the VC20, since Vic is (or sounds like) a rude word in German :-)

I still find it great that in America {bleep} does not appear to mean anything.  The sound enginner on Day after tomorrow is Tom W4nker

And I have seen an old epsiode of Mork and Mindy, where the was a character called mr w4nker

@ mr A500

In fact this is the Wikipedia page about Fonthill, Ontario. I guess this is the same little town

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fonthill,_Ontario

That part caught my attention

Quote
Trivia
Fonthill is the mailing address for many purchase rebates given by computer companies. Rebates received at this PO box are processed at an office a short drive away in Welland.

So, after all, aparently Fonthill is somehow related to computers, in some kind of a weird way
Sorry for my english. This is not my first language, so be brave and/or king enough to forgive my mistakes.

I wouldn't put much trust in that "trivia" quote. It doesn't say which computer companies or give an example, then makes it sound like these companies all use the same PO box and they all use the same processing office in Welland. Weird is right.
