MorphOS users.. do you like your OS?
« on: May 03, 2007, 07:20:57 PM »
I have used morphOS a little bit and found it to be great!  I think it's just what the doctor ordered.  It's mature and robust.   I want to hear form morphOS users and find out if anybody who bought a peg now thinks they suck of does not like the morph and needs OS4.  Becasue to me there is no point in fighting over this os4 (cool as it may be) given we have a winner with morphOS.

I definitely like it and don't regret to have bought a Pegasos back then. But today I wouldn't buy an exotic hardware again, thus unless MorphOS would be ported to x64 some day, I'd just continue to use it as long as my Peg stays alive.

I use it on my Amiga 4000 with Cyberstorm PPC and G-Rex.

Nice OS, opens up a few more possibilities for the old hardware and lets you get the most out of that PPC accelerator.  :-)

Yes I like it very very much.
I used a amiga4000 with a cyberstorm before my peg2.
I still have this one waiting for OS4.0 for classic.
I have euae and whdload going on my peg and it runs all my old games very nice...apydia,turricans,K240 super.
I even connected an old suzy "the Arcade" joystick to it just to get the amiga feeling when playing.
I also use pagestream 3 and Fxpaint all work flawlessly.
And so do Artdepartment pro,mldonkey,aminetradio!!.makecd,Fpan,Xipaint,Samplemanager,Amigawriter..
And the list goes on and it runs these programs fast..
ANd there offcourse is Sputnik,Mosnet.
It feels like a amiga4000 cyberstorm equipped on steroids.
And I also like the settings you can perform.
All is very clear and easy to understand with this MUI4.

Downside off the OS..
No central place for all updates.
You have to look on different places for beta's,updates.
Printing is an issue with some programs.

If there is a new pegasos with morphos 1.5 I will buy this.
But I will also buy a OS4.0 system iff available.

Has anybody got free morphos running on the same or similar hardware to mine?

A1200, 603e/175, 040/25 64mb ram
Latest powerflyer
3.1 roms
Rev 1a mobo
bvision
Z4 busboard
Hypercom
cybervision 64/3d
octagon scsi

I know morphos does not support powerflyer, but I have been told that as it will reconize the HDD on channel 0

I wish I could use it. I have a Peg 1 but so far I can't even get a video signal out of it. I tried different AGP cards but it doesn't work.

So unfortunately I haven't used it yet. I'd love to though...

I like MorphOS. It runs very nicely on my PegII. Sadly, I can't find much use for it since all of my Amiga needs are fulfilled by my A4000. I'm thinking of selling the PegII, even though for some reason I want to hold on to it :-?

Classic games run really well under UAE in MorphOS. Newer games like Quake and Wipeout also run really well. I do want to keep the PegII for the cool factor. I know I'll use it now and again :-)

Yeah, I already asked on 2 Peg forums what the problem might be. GFX card and harddisk don't work so I have a sneaky suspicion that the board may be faulty :-(
