don't give up with help form moto or other you should be able to get it working...

Yeah, I already asked on 2 Peg forums what the problem might be. GFX card and harddisk don't work so I have a sneaky suspicion that the board may be faulty :-(

I love it! Using a Peg2 with MOS as main machine at home..(now).

I like it more than my A4000 for desktop use. Playing all
video files smooth and still multitask without problem is something i
missed (and needed a pc) too do before. Not anymore :)

Also all emulators like Mame is frequntly used. Also streaming music
via Rdesktop, something my A4k struggles with is great to have.

Its very recomended. I only got it november last year, Im really glad
I bought it!

I succeded in running the 1st PUP version on my 1200/bppc/grex setup... it was just an empty OS, and passed it by...
Now I tried some times to run it on my 4000/csppc/grex setup, but without any luck... so I don't pay attention to it now :lol: ...
I wish they could add a boot manager of some sorts, like the linux distros...

I wasn't too fond of it when I first got it, but having installed a newer Ambient and other tweaks to the system (finally figured out how deficons work earlier this week) I'm enjoying it quite a lot. It's far more stable than my OS4 machine, very fast, very compatible, very Amiga.

H've morphos on my Peg2 and a1200 ppc 240 mhz + bvision (i have only morphos on my amiga + Whdload games, no os3.x). It's really nice and compatible system (opus magellan is working in comparison to os4).

I use both and personally like AmigaOS4 a lot more than MorphOS.

They're both great, but OS4 just feels more polished and amigalike to me. If I had to get rid of either my Pegasos or my AmigaOne, the Peg would definately go.

There is room for both, I think.

All I did was to copy CD to HDD and edit startup-sequence. Thats all.

is it so simple? I don't want to bin 3.9 on my amiga... also the kickflash/algorPRO roms get in the way... also am I supposed to have it on a partition smaller than 2gb? on the 2nd partition perhaps after 3.9?

@oddmario
you are a genius.....

@keropi
I think you can boot if from 3.9 after you copy it.  Not sure.  AZs you know my PPC card is toast.

@all
so far it sounds like morph works well for most users and can even work on some classic models.... So even once INC fails (I know they will) and hyperion looses (they might) who cares. there is already a new OS that works well and suits the community... I think we should be thankfull that genisi did this for us.  I respect that they don;t want to work with inc or hyperion... why should they work with amatures? I will support the morph team and I do urge them to get this OS working other CPU types IF possible!

Even if OS4 development was completely stopped by all this stuff (though i doubt it), and MorphOS suddenly became very successful, i doubt i'd switch to MorphOS as my main Amigoid OS.

I'm glad we have both, but i'd much rather use OS4.

Yes, for me it was that simple. I have 2 Partitions each 20 GB, one for OS3.9 and one for MorphOS. By default it boots OS3.9, if I want to boot MorphOS I just change the bootdevice in the Early-Startup.

I had one couple years ago ... actually had Peg1 first which was upgraded to Peg2 (sold it 2004 when found a project where it was badly needed)..

Hardware was good (this coming from HW designer) and I have never problems in it. Software was ok for what it was.. Gui works, and Shell is what's it supposed to be. There were not many commercial grade games/apps at the time but if you are used to get by what's available to Amiga systems it's not bad.

It was kinda amazing to see how seamlessly it could run new PPC stuff and older (often over decade old) 68K programs (yes, Mos had working Jit allready). Pitty though there were no decent web browser (still at works?) and some other apps I had accustomed to have (like M$ compatible text editor+spreadsheet) were lackin when comapared to most common OpenSouce variants.. But It's something a lot people can live with.

Would I purchase one again? Perhaps, someday.
