@jkirk

Well, my understanding is that this time Bill McEwen contacted Wayne to tell him he was ready for another 20 questions, instead of the other way round. If he bothers to read these forums (and he'd be wise to do so), he should know what people think of Amiga Inc.

that is what i think however if he wants to talk then talk. this hiding behind 20 questions is bugging me. if bill wants to make a statement then make one. if he feels that we have the wrong opinion of ainc, tell us.

the 20 questions are a way that issues (not covered by ususal communication) can be addressed(we have used it in lieu of direct communication) the 20 questions is not a pr campaign and should never be used as such imo. the lack of communication with the community (outside the 20 questions) shows a lack of pr knowledge/creativity or other reasons some good, some bad. i just feel that they should forego the 20 questions and just address the community in general.

all the 20 questions do is this

1 hey he is willing to answer 20 questions
2 time passes while questions are gathered
3 questions sent
4 time passes while questions are answered
5 answers recieved
6 answers posted - debate ensues

rather than waste all this time why not put forward what you want to say. we can skip 2-5 and go to the debate then he could follow up on his statement to clarify things. this might even lead to ainc and the community to mend the rift if they are persistant and honest.
The only stupid question is a question not asked.

Have Amiga Inc. ever donated money to support AROS.  AOS x86? or even realized it's potential?

My guess is no.  Amiga would only put effort into something such as OS4 which may never see the light of day on modern hardware due to their own backward intervention.

I think Bill needs to take a step back. Maybe Amiga should employ someone who will receive and give respect from the Amiga community and not this mad man.

20 questions.  Whats the point.  More carrots dangled before us.  Not for me thank you.

Now 20 questions from Hyperion.  Now there would be something worth listening to.

"edited by admin : personal attack"

This is a bit out of line isn't it? While we might not be satisfied with Amiga Inc's doings the above is rude. Bill is actually a nice guy IMHO and that things have turned out the way they are might not only be the fault of him.

1) Who owns and controls the OS4 property (who has the rights to license it to third party, develop it further, or even sell it if that would be desirable)?

2) What is Amiga OS by your definition?

3) What is the future of Amiga Inc and Amiga OS?
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

Enough with the personal attacks guys.  It's childish, rude, and unacceptable.

I put up a poll.  Simple.  Should we do another 20 questions, or not.  No need to debate.  Flames will be extinguished, and the flamers will be killed.

I just cannot believe how sad this community has become, to lower itself to such childishness.

I guess it's a strong indication of how fed up some people have become with Amiga, Inc. (although personal attacks are still not nice)

Edit: Oh, just in case my vote wasn't clear. I vote: NO 20 new questions for A, Inc. The 20 questions for Hyperion sounded like a good idea. Or what about Jens Schoenfeld?!

I would put it the other way around. The community has grown to not accept the same bullsh1t again and again.

Interestingly, I just got an e-mail from Bill suggesting that he's "ready to do another 20 questions any time we are".

I'd like to know if they've noticed DiscreetFX's interest to purchase Amiga, and if they have any comment on that. Or if nothing else, if they'd consider selling their stake in OS4 so they can concentrate on their Anywhere games without any further distractions from us.

I guess it gave them a few giggles, that's all.

That would be great, but it requires McEwen convincing Amiga Inc's investors. Good luck.

If the Amiga OS market is as dead as claimed, why would they need any convincing? If there's no viable market for it then they're not going to make money off that IP unless they find some "sucker" willing to buy it off them. Makes sound business sense to me.

If, on the other hand, they think that there still is a market, or that one can be created; then hoplding on to it makes sense.

I think this is a very central point. My assumption: Their investors think/know there isn't much money to gain from the IP.
They still keep it (frozen) for two reasons: a) some deluded "sucker" willing to buy it b) making money from lawsuits against parties that might infringe their IP/patents. Not saying that this is a central part of their corporate objective. But keeping it doesn't harm them.

The rest of the company might be used for other "purposes", but I don't really care too much about the AmigaAnywhere/cell phone games part.

Where David Pleasance these days. He had his heart with the Amiga and even today could do more with it in a month that Bill has in years.

Agreed. I doubt even Mehdi Ali could stuff things up so badly.

This would seem to rule out Amino, I doubt they have any of these 3 things :-)
