I really feel that a 20 Q&A session with Bill is a Complete waste of time.  What you'll do is ask good questions and get zippo for answers unless they are total BS answers.  He may promise new hardware and a new OS and new Software along with 100 new companies ready to jump on board and bring the Amiga to Front stage again (tell me if this sounds all too familiar).  But then again when haven't they promised all this (maybe not all at the same time)?  I personally am tired of Bill, Fleecy and all the other idiots at A-Inc.  I prob wouldn't buy a new Amiga even if it was sitting in front of me just because I know Amiga INC is run by a bunch of monkeys and That they would do something stupid again.  Don't get me wrong I love my Amiga's and will continue to support anyone out there, with the exception of Amiga Inc themselves.

Eh, what are these? Amino is selling video cameras? Or are they computers, if so, what are the specs? Who the hell is ACK, they don't even seem to have a website?

Where have you been these years? In a cave? ACK  worked for MAI in developing the A1 and has been also OS4 developer, in charge, for example, of eth3com.device, the device controlling the A1 ethernet connection:

Quote
2.OS4:> version eth3com.device full
eth3com.device 52.1 ( 8-12-2006)
(c) ACK Software Controls Inc.

For some months he has been developing some own HW projects, including A1200 add-ons and stand-alone boards.

Should read "ACK worked for MAI in trying to fix the Terons".

I think you're both correct. He did a lot (or possibly most or all) of the work on the MicroAI-I which was never released. I think he had the rug pulled from under him at the last minute. He was talking openly about this on IRC last year, but I cant find the logs or remember exact details.

Thanks for the clarification.
So, assuming that these are computers, I assume they are some kind of AmigaOne machine. Hopefully some (impressive) specs will appear, it's very unprofessional to put out such a cryptic press release and no specifications, not even clock speed...
The high-end model seems very overpriced, this equates to about $A2000. It would have to absolutely destroy the competition specs-wise to justify this kind of price. If the specs were that good, I assume they would have not hidden them. So the conclusion is that it is likely to be an underpowered, overpriced proprietary PPC box. I can see a repeat of the Eyetech fiasco ahead.

He was talking of a 1.7Ghz PowerPC 7448 last year. It's not going to destroy the competition, but it is a very expensive chip. Moreso than the G5 I think. (I'm not sure if this is still the case).

Wonder which OS will be released with this board, should it ever see the light of day.

OS4 or OS5?

I think the video camera is merely there as a 'device' in marketing parlance. its supposed to say the amiga is still in the spotilight, or somesuch marketing b0ll0x like that.
Rather no website than a non-updated one that is just flannel, or worse 'under construction' !

I have only one Question:

Ist an old Tradition of Amiga INC and Mr. McEwen to give many express promises, but after a time they tourned out, as hollow oder broken.

WHY should we now believe the latest promises?  :-?
