@Shadow

Then they're not actually interested in buying one, as Pegasos are
still in stock for several resellers.  If I remember, Pegasos-UK, GGS,
Versala, and computer city still have them in stock at least as of
last friday, when I asked.

@Downix

They are not. They want a completely free Pegasos-system. We will see how it turns out :)

Well,
 Unless you are a serious LINUX fan, I would not recommend buying an Amiga one because Hyperion does not even have OS4 out for Cyberstorm! That means the Amiga 1 version probably wont be released until end of Summer earliest! So, if you want to spend $1000 on a Linux box - get one. IF you want a fast Amiga environment on a PPC machine buy a Pegasos.. Genesi has Morphos in a stable state - though still "beta" with the soon coming MOS 1.4 release it should be a full public user version. Highly recommended. I'm typing it on one now with Ibrowse and its the fastest thing I"ve seen in computers.

Despite that I write from Pegasos/IBrowse too, the thread is about the AmigaONE. Can we stay on topic please? :-)

Uhh... the thread is : Should people buy an Amiga ONE.  I think my post is COMPLETELY ON TOPIC. MY answer is NO, not right now. It is great hardware (except for DMA bugs) but there is NO OS YET.
magnetic

ps Posts about running only LINUX on A1 WILL keep coming up until OS4 is RUNNING on A1. People are laying out hard earned $$ and are not informed enought about what is REALLY going on in the Amiga world and will be dissapointed with LINUX. They bought the machines to run OS4 NOT Linux (well most of them) the way Ainc talked - no talk - about OS4 is that its right around the corner and IT ISNT even close for A1. We'll see about OS4 on Cyberstorm soon I hope.
