Hi, i have bad news, the new acelerator for Amiga 600 of Individual Computers was delayed, i reserved one to Vesalia, it was planned to be available this month, and the acelerator disappeared from Vesalia shop, so i asked to Vesalia about it, they said that it was delayed for a few months at least due a technical problem that was discovered on the turbo board.

I had an email from Jens saying
"I have shelved the project until I have the will to work for an Amiga community that currently only gets on my nerves. I will add your eMail to the list when I make one.

ciao,

yep I contacted Jens about a week after he announced the boards. He told me he shelved the accelerators and so. I just kept the news to myself as I thought either retailers or Jens himself should bring the news. Since it is out now I can drop my opinion on this forum;

Although he informed me that it was about fuzz on the forums that he shelved the project I think this is very unlikely.
You simply don't produce 110 PCB's and shelve them. Either you have money to burn or there is a technical problem. One would like return of investment so the latter is more probable.

Anyway he stated that he would start testing again by christmas because he recently became occupied with none amiga related work. That I think is a healthy thing.

Hope the boards reach the market sooner or later. On the other hand what does a year delay matter on the lifespan of an A600?

Regards,
Erno

It seems that some people here know this information, i hope that i didn't revealed any personal information, but if dealers give this information when you ask i supposed that it was public information.

I hope also to see this acelerator on my hands to have more usable A600.

Why blame the whole Amiga community when something dosent go as planned?
If someone invested alot of money in developing boards, then he/she would for sure not drop it all just because of what someone said on a public forum. Find a better excuse next time..

Hmm...didn't I see Jens name on the list of speakers for the AmiWest Show in Sacramento on October 21?  Could make for an interesting day if Jens still feels that the Amiga Community "only gets on (his) nerves."

Sounds like someone needs a vacation!

Dang, this IS bad news

I preordered one of those boards and was really happy that I was going to be able to buy one. I was starting to wonder what happened but I expected to receive an e-mail any day now about them being ready to ship.

Sigh...

Guys, criticising Jens isn't going to help. It was a big commitment on his behalf to begin with, and we should be grateful that at least SOMEONE is making an effort, because if he doesn't make the boards, noone else will.

If Jens was so fed up with the Amiga community, he should not have created such expectation of it's imminent release.

I hope a technical issue has come up and this is just an excuse.  If he's really so fickle as to stop development for such reasons, it does not give me much confidence in any announcement of future products.

Maybe if he didn't offer to ship warantee covered parts,
then retract the offer without any reason or explanation
a community that is purchasing his products wouldn't get
on his nerve's. Anybody want a broken X-SurfII? I guess
I'm never going to see the mach chip he said he'd send
me 15 months ago.

If I read this thread correctly, it has been 4 years and no accelerator.  I would hit ebay and buy the 030, 040, or 060 that is up there now (US Ebay anyway)
