Testing in Taiwan, then again in England? There's a need to test them TWICE????????

Have you ever seen what shipment can do to a piece of hardware? :-)
Honestly, consider it a good service that they test it again.
Look out, I\'ve got a gun

Dealers first and People who ordered a board before NOV 1st 2002 are first on the list.
Eyetech you are taking the P!$$ now!!!!

This is ridiculous. This seems perfectly fair - whoever ordered them first gets them first. You think you deserve special treatment because you live close to Eyetech?

No I dont think I should get special treatment and I agree this should be done by order date. So if someone in Sweden ordered on on the 3rd of March  from their local dealer then they should get theirs after those who ordered in the UK from Eyetech (local delaer) back in November, However its not working like that is it!!!!  Eyetech are not shipping to people in the UK. They are our local dealer as Alan once stated they are two seperate divisions, manufacturing and sales.

The point i was making.
Eyetech (sales) is my local dealer.
GGS is the Dealer for people in Sweden.
Soft3 in italy etc. etc.

People  order from their local dealer.

Its great news they are shipping but Eyetech have to remember that they are also the local dealer for the people in the UK. They are sending boards to all the other dealers,  so they can pass them on to their cutomers, but are neglecting their dealership commitment to UK customers.

That is the point i'm putting accross.

How it was.. lemme think now... something like: "there are now three times more AmigaOnes shipped than Pegasos-systems"

Sorry to hear you're not one of those 1800 owners  :-D

Would be nice to know where these figures came.. prolly from a person with  a very imaginative mind

@Rogue:

Bah, don't even try. Some people are just not willing to use their frelling brains.

Everyone:
I bet Helgis would be REALLY happy if Eyetech sold him a board which had been destroyed during shipping, right? Gee.

Now quit your yapping and enjoy life or something. If Helgis had been smart enough not to order an AmigaOne from someone who doesn't even have a dealership with Eyetech, he would be in a much stronger bargaining position. Also, he could have signed up at my new mailing list (for users in the nordic countries), but he has chosen not to, so he's not going to see what goes on.  ;-)

Oh, and about A1 having sold 3 times as many as Peg...
Well, I don't think so. But we're talking one HUGE lot of orders which has not yet been billed/shipped. I think it's safe to say the number of orders are at least twice that of the Pegasos sales figure you seem to be stating as fact (600?)

@Olegil

600 is the number of betatesterboards I've been told and seen. Can't be much off truth as I remember 200-250 boards being out before the recent 400+ shipped.

Naturally I can't say anything as a 100% fact.

According to Alan, they are receiving another batch of boards tomorrow (Friday 2nd).

They are testing them in the UK as well so they are absolutely sure that they work.  How annoyed would you be if you received for A1 after waiting ages only to find it didn't work.

What is annoying is that Eyetech can't even tell you how far down the line you are which they should be able to work out from the order number.

I sympathise with people waiting (like me) but look on the bright side.  If Eyetech are currently rushed off their feet shipping boards then it must mean the demand and therefore the number of sales of the A1 will be relatively high.  This can only be A Good Thing TM.

No of course not. Nothing bad in securing the quality.

Hmm, to be absolutely sure, Eyetech should perhaps  test the board once again after the sipment to GGS data in Sweden, and then once again when datakompaniet in Norway recieves it?  :-P  :-D

Yet we don't know anything about the actual demand/backlog orders for the Pegasos, only that 600 were sold, they were sold fast, and the demand is still bigger than that.

I will get it straight, to some of you criticing me as a person. The point is not about growing up or getting a life. I am both of that. The point is to speed things up bringing out the boards to everyone, and what's wrong with running Linux? Many people seem more than satificed enough to run Linux, MOL and UAE all in Linux, so why not? But of course, the ultimate experience will be AmigaOS 4.0..

I'm more or less happy that Eyetech tests the boards very carefully, and that i have no choice but to keep waiting. I have been waiting since before Christmas, and i was complaining most of the time..

I'm not so sure how Datakompaniet is doing the job, well or poor. They seem to have managed getting their first 4 boards stuck somewhere in Norway, so they haven't received them yet, yet they were sent 14th of April from Gunne...That should explain a lot...

Sending thousands of mail to destroy Eyetech. No, that's not the point, but it could help them bring up to a better solution...You never know really. Words are the most powerful weapon; a powerful ally...When used right, it could force people to bring up the best solution to satisfy all..That's all i would like to say..

When i get the board finally, then i'm satisfied...Remember to read between the lines before you start complaining about me..

The case is closed...

Helgis - AMIGA DEFINITELY makes it all possible!!!

I see some people have waited about a year.

Wow, I haven't even placed an order.  I want the G4 version, but if it's going to take 4-6 months for delivery I am not sure if it's worth ordering.

I have the funds, but I think I'll wait a while until the turn-a-round time is more like 3-4 weeks.

Helgis,

I hate waiting

I'm patient.  I'm still going to get mine in the coming weeks, but I won't be able to play with it until 1) I get a new monitor, and 2) I get AmigaOS 4.0 running on it.  I'd use my current A4kT's monitor, but it recently died on me.  So I'll sit back and work on my TiBook in the meanwhile.  Maybe I'll go out and buy an iPod for my birthday. :-)

Maybe i need a dose of Demerol or something and fall asleep, waking up when i get my board... :-(

Well, anyway. I must try to focus my mind on something else for a while...I guess i have no choice but to keep waiting...God, what a pain...

I'll pray to God that everything works out in the end..

Thank you so much for keeping the spirit with me, and feeding me with new powers...You guys are great...You put a smile on my face.. :-)

Why all this anger now?

I can understand that many were p***ed off at the whole
situation 6 months ago, but now when the A1's are
finally shipping? Ok, shipment is slow, but still, more
and more people are recieving their LONG awaited
machines everyday now. What we should feel right
now is EXCITEMENT not frustration. Things are rolling
and I'm confident that you, Helgis75, will think it's
been worth waiting once you get your piece.

I preordered my A1 autumn 2001 and now I'm sitting
here typing this on my A1XE, and yes, Linux is great!

It came to a great surprise when i got a nice mail from Eyetech, by a sales person named Gina.  :-)

She cheered me up and told me that Eyetech are really doing the best to let everybody get their boards, and it's sure worth the wait!  :-)

Such a nice, friendly young woman.  :-)

A great thank to Gina, the Sales Manager at Eyetech. :-)

Its not like Eyetech are a large concern. Sheesh .... give them a chance. My dealer told me something like there are three ppl working at Eyetech.

If that is the case - two ppl have to stop work to answer phone and emails. That leaves just one guy to unpack the bulk container.

The fellow who has to keep answering the phone needs some time to arrange OUTWARDS shipping or the boards will just fill up their premises.

(You think you've been waiting a l-o-n-g time? I'm STILL using a '80s era A2000!)
