Correct me if I am wrong but in 2004 it was told the PV is already running Linux and will be available in the 1st quarter of 2005. Now we have 1st quarter of 2006 and there is still nothing.

this PowerVixxen thing.

@DJBase

That's a fair comment, however you have this site:

http://dragon.amigaworld.de/

Why is one bit of "Vapourware" definately not existing according to you, and yet one with a similar track record is worth creating a support site for?

It's a bit inconsistant isn't it?

And?  We saw pictures of the Shark, does that stop that being vapour.  I've seen the original AmigaOne-A1200 in the flesh, but that's a vapourous as they come.

I'm just wondering why you favour one vapour project over another by such degrees of magnitude.  Especially when you are so adamant that the PV is some kind of conspiracy.

Why do you think I do favour one of these products? Because I did sime kind of webpages for one of them? Both are vapor for me but one of them seems to be real in some kind. Thats a different for me. Do you have anything to show us that the PV is real? No? Why bother me then?

@DJBase

The reason why I'm calling you out on this is because you seem to be so vocal in your denouncement of the PV.  You state that it doesn't exist as fact, when really you're just as clueless as the rest of us.

Creating a webpage takes time and effort.  A whiff of hypocracy is in the air.

Is this because the PV is related to OS4 and Dragon is not?

Can you give me any reason or proof that its not? ACK is unable since over 1 year to show us just a simple picture (rememver, he said the PV is running Linux since 2004). No doubt, I would be really happy if this card will be real some day as I wanted to buy it but for now its just a dream.

I am really sorry that I had time to do that DRAGON page. I have no problems to make a page for the PV too. I just have no time at the moment and I need some sign that it is real.

Ah, now I understand the reason. You don't have to talk any further. Seems you have really some problems in your life.

Until we can buy it, I don't think the Dragon is any less vapour than the PV, but at least

1. We have seen pictures of the Dragon and know that it actually exists.
2. Elbox have a proven track record in producing Amiga hardware going back years.

Neither of the above apply to ACK / PowerVixxen.

@ALL

Could it not just simply be that the cause of the late estiamted release date for the PV be down to the fact that they are also having to create MiniPCI grfx cards?

It could also be down to a delay in getting shipments of chips and other parts which is no fault of there own when you consider a request for "500" chips compared to an order for 10x that much!!

Please can everyone stop these tired posts as they are wearing abit thin.

Escom A1200, Power Tower, OS3.9 & BB2, HD-Floppy drive, Mediator PCI, Voodoo 3 3000 16MB, Soundblaster 4.1, TV Tuner Card, 10/100MBit Ethernet card, Apollo 68060 66MHz with 64MB, 9.5Gig HD and 52xCDRom

Also one spare unworking bare A1200

Sig says it all...
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else
