LOL!

I love the answer to the guys question in the auction. I cant belive anyone bid after that attitude.

I think he was trying to get around the fact that the A1200 dosent come with a power supply.

Pretty sure it was used in Mad Dog McGee... an A500 no less :)  The CD32 was used in at least 1 arcade machine.

Doommaster (aka pacificanw) also likes badmouthing other people's auctions (or maybe it's just my auctions). And he was recently using amiga.org as his "backup" in saying that "we" all know that my auctions are fakes (an obvious lie - but I check into it anyway). Oh,well. At least I now have another place to check up on what's new on the amiga.

Maybe I should thank him for that.

The Amiga 3000T is actually more valuable then the Amiga 4000 and has a present eBay value of between $800.00 to $1,200.00 American dollars.

Yes I think the company (American Laser Games) used Amiga hardware in a few of their earlier games.  They used laserdisc footage and the Amiga graphics overlaid on the top.  They later started using 3DO hardware instead, before (as is traditional for any company which comes within 100 yards of Amiga) they went bust.

There was also Mastertronic's Arcadia system, as mentioned above, which was based on the A500 and has many games made for it in the late 80's, including ports of Amiga games. There was also the Cubo CD32-based arcade system, and a gambling / poker  machine which was also Amiga based (possibly called "Riverboat Queen" or something similar - I remember seeing it for sale on Ebay a couple of years ago)

In addition, many of the early "virtual reality" arcade machines (the ones where you had to wear a headset and ran at like 5 fps) were based on Amiga 3000 motherboards.

Have you noticed that he has sold exactly the same item to this bidder?

 :-o
Looks a bit fishy to me. 8-)

The best thing about the 3000T auction is that the photographs clearly show most (all?) of the socketed chips are missing, as are the floppy drives. The CD drive isn't even attached to the SCSI adapter.

someone should ask him about what he means with:

"Question:   Has this unit been tested to be functional? Could you estimate shipping to Zip code 95831 (Sacramento, California)? Thanks!"

"Answer:   Yes, it is functional. The weight is stated in the auction so that YOU can estimate the shipping."

As has been said: the A3000T clearly lacks some or maybe all of the chips which can be pull out of it, it dosn't have any floppy drives and the CD-Rom isn't attached.

Auction ended at $202. I guess he was wrong about Amiga 3000T's being worth $800-$1200!!

I'll bet it will be back up for sale agian in a few days.

I'm in the market for an Amiga 3000 and It really annoys me that I keep finding his auctions.

>Maybe the fact that he's claiming the A1200 in stock form is much better than an Xbox or any other modern game console... and thats just the start of it.

But this is entirely true. I know which I would rather have, and it's not the {bleep}Box.

>Also stating that many arcade games used Amiga motherboards is just a lie.

Hmm, let's see, Road Wars, Aaaargh!, and several others the names of which escape me at the moment.

Please check your facts before making these silly posts.

Well if he didn't strip everything that was not bolted down he might of got  closer to the $800 mark but I think most Amiga bidders were keen enough to notice the vital missing parts!  Woot!
