Sorry, I seem to be missing the point. Other than the seller's obnoxious reply to the bidder's question, what is the problem?

Maybe the fact that he's claiming the A1200 in stock form is much better than an Xbox or any other modern game console... and thats just the start of it. Gimme a break.  Also stating that many arcade games used Amiga motherboards is just a lie.
Not true at all.

Fair enough about the Arcade machine bit - I just re-read that and realised how funny that sounds. Yeah, you can rip the software from an arcade machine and run it directly on a vanilla A1200 with no emulation layer

But the bit about it being better than an xbox is surely a matter of opinion. And I have to say, I agree with the seller of this auction. I own both an Amiga and an XBox. I get rapidly bored of the XBox games (ie within minutes). I find them vacuous, unengaging, and frankly pointless. Amiga games however, seem to have a lot more going for them.

Of course this is a matter of opinion, and it could be argued that the marketplace (be it eBay, a shop, whatever) is not the place to air that opinion, but to market a product on its own merits rather than by comparing it to other products. No doubt the seller was just trying to coax some bids out of uncertain buyers

Is this a seller to avoid? If so maybe some background, as some of you seem to know him well. I was considering a purchase from one of his auctions, so whatever light you can shed on him might be helpful.

Just search Amiga.org for DoomMaster, he also ventured on AmigaWorld.net as retrogeek with the same results..

All signs point to it being Doommaster, if you look at this dodgy auction (clearly a machine he's bought to replace stuff on another machine and he's punting it because he has no further use for it) he links to theb retrogeek website with his picture on it.

Not only is the Amiga 1200 a cool video game machine, it is also a full blown color computer with a hard drive built in (X-Box, move the fu*k over).  So, if you want to continue supporting Microshaft and Bill Hitler Gates, then buy an X-Box piece of crap.

is this one for real???  or is he a standup comedian

LOL!

I love the answer to the guys question in the auction. I cant belive anyone bid after that attitude.

I think he was trying to get around the fact that the A1200 dosent come with a power supply.
