A little off topic: Does anyone know about a TFT/LCD monitor that does 15kHz on the VGA input? Please provide manufacturer/model number.

[/quote]

Hmm, mine can. It's a Medion MD6144AO 15" TFT (or is it LCD, can newer remember the difference?). The only 15 Hz screen it hasn't been able to display until yet is Dynablaster, all others work fine, but 15 Hz isn't crystal clear unfortunately.

I bought a Medion 17" with the same design layout hoping that it could display 15 Hz as well, but that one needed a scandoubler, so I'm looking for one that's better than my MicroniK Scandy :-)

-EDIT-

Here is a picture of the monitor displaying a 15 Hz screen. Dunno if anyone can see it from this picture, but there are some vertical lines on the display. Not that big of a problem to me though, as the display delivered by my MicroniK Scandy is actually worse...

Hmmm.... Medion? Nice surprise, they're sold under plenty of names for pretty decent prices here in Norway :)

And one of our store chains (Elkjoep) have a 30-day no-questions-asked full refund return period...

Shopping time, me thinks.

Edit: btw those vertical lines are a typical LCD artifact often present when displaying something lower than native resolution. 1280x1024 Native should be perfect for hires-lace though (640x512) as every pixel should be exactly doubled.

Keep in mind that only the 15" model can do this, but with the 30 day no-questions-asked refund I guess you have nothing to loose other than the time wasted.

Regarding the vertical lines I guess anyone can learn to live with it. Unfortunately this monitor can only go up to 1024 x 768 :-(

Eye ball everything carefully - it may not be as bad you think.
It's a shame you're so far away, I could pop it in for you.................

I have an Amiga RGB SCART cable I connect to my 7 inch LCD monitor that has a RGB scart input.

http://www.dabs.com/uk/productView.html?quicklinx=3162&familyid=203

I am in the states and mine does not do PAL, atleast from the amiga but it does RGB with the scart cable and will do 15 khz.
If you need a monitor to play games on and use the graphics card for real work, this is not a bad idea.

Another idea is to use a RGB scart cable to a RGB VGA transcoder/upconveter.

Have not tried this but it might work as well.

Exactly how many wires are we talking about here?

The two lines going to the Lisa needed to be extended by an inch or so on the unit I have. The PCB is a VERY tight fit, but it did go in. However, A friend has a 4000T that this unit would not fit in. There is now way the PCB would go in, so I see first hand what you are saying. I wonder why? different version mobo?

A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

Nah, AFAIK the only A4000T mobo ever used in production is the rev4.
Are you talking about the very same SD/FF fitting in one A4000T, and not another one? Makes no sense, unless ofcourse the one it did fit in, is a different mobo rev (genuine C= A4000T perhaps? A until now unknown Rev3 mobo? If so, please take pictures and send them to www.amiga-hardware.com ).

EDIT: Two lines to LISA ?!? On mine, the main PCB fits on LISA, and the two-line PCB fits on ALICE.

After shaving off as much of the main PCB as possible, it would fit on LISA, but the edge of the PCB touched the pins of the SCSI/Floppy module connector.

Well, in a thread a long time ago I offered to switch scandoubler with someone in Argentina, that needed one for his video slot, and the same offer goes to you of course. I think the same offer went to Pasha when he had troubles installing his.

It's a Scandy In from Micronik for the videoslot. It works, but I can't remember if it has flicker fixing. It's an offer anyway, but I doubt you'll take me up on it :-)

;)  I looked it up on the BBoAH and your right, it doesn't Flicker fix.  I DO apreciate the offer though and other wise would have been a perfect fix!
