@TjLaZah

Funny but true. Anyone else tired of Amiga hardware profiteering?

I went about getting my PIV the same way Tahoe is doing, because they seem to be cards that people don't want to get rid of. It is a very nice classic Amiga card after all. Well Tahoe can ask, and people can respond with prices. It depends how badly he wants it, whether he'll pay a high price.
Of course the advantage of doing it like this is that he gets to deal with an AO user instead of a stranger on ebay, which means he is less likely to be ripped off in terms of getting the card and having it work properly.

I AM THE ONE THAT GOT OVERBID AT 250 !!

Oh sorry, no, it was this one: http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5195240620&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1

Ehr... That was a little to much, I am willing to spend up to 200 EUR for a card, specially if it still intact (videoslot not removed).

Hi,

     You would think that at this point there should be some ex-Amiga hardware companies saying "Damn, if we started back up an made 1000 of these we could sell them all and make a fortune!".  Hmmmm anyone got a couple million for a new startup?

The price would stay high only if people were still under the illusion that they were rare and therefore worth the megabucks. So they would have to keep it quiet if they did so :)

This card is based on a cirrus logic chipset - these were fairly pathetic cards on the PC side back in the day.  You would hope that if someone made a new card they would use something a little more current.

@Tahoe:

I have a Picasso IV card which is in use with my A4000D system (e.g. not really for sale), however if you are willing to pay 300EUR + shipping, it's yours. It's the latest revision PIV with the latest revision FF/SD chip on it (V7), still uncut (e.g. never tried with an A2000).

I know that the price is a nightmare, but that's how much it would take for me to let go of a hardware that I currently use (e.g. it's not sittign on a shelf unused, taking space).

Hey Yo!

OOOHHHH Jeff! ;-) Don't reveal the ebay auctions containing Picasso IV cards. I may be interested in buying it, and i don't want a fierce competition over it. Just to clarify to my competition: Picasso IV cards are cheap as chips and are as common as PC's. There, hopefully i have cleared the confusion! ;-)

Regards,

-EDIT-

Oh wait. The card appears to be a little dodgy. Caryy on! :-)

Sounds just like my PIV, and mine has the original retail box too.
