Still haven't received my tshirt yet! Any others?
« on: March 17, 2005, 07:40:42 AM »
Yeah thats right I still have not received my club amiga tshirt although I checked my adress on os.amiga.com and it is correct. Maybe Amiga only made a few tshirts and send them to the english speaking countries only so they get at least good publicity in the english speaking amiga forums or something.. :pissed:

Anyone else still "waiting" for their Tshirts?

Mine came to Finland ok, and we definitely don't speak English as our mother tongue. :-)

ok, most likely its not a conspiracy behind this and I'm just a bit too paranoid.. maybe I'll ask Gary Hare at the irc Q&A why it is too difficult for his company to send out ~1000 t-shirts.. its really strange.. maybe they didn't have enough money to print all tshirts and only made 800 or something..

The majority of users received them.

With postal packs, something may goes wrong.... at least here in italy. Try to contact KMOS or Ray.

Someone is receiving the T-Shirt in these days. Infact i've read that Loki has received it few days ago, on AW.net.

I know that someone here in Italy doens't have received it too, yet.

I think they are 2000-3000 T-shirts. Anyway remember that KMOS didn't promised to you the Tshirt, it was AmigaInc. KMOS honored this promised, but this a gift. Why some amiga users are so fanatic? I really don't uderstand, sometimes i think is really humiliating to be an amigan. Continue you're slandering against Amiga.

Huh? KMOS bought Amiga inc, they assumed all of it's debts. It's not charity to expect to receive something that you paid for.

For the record, I finally got mine a few weeks ago...  Though I haven't unwrapped it, because I might need to eBay it to pay my bills!  (Anyone want a collectors item? :-o)

That means they were up to last names of "K" in the US, assuming it's going in some sort of order... If you're really off the beaten path, maybe they've been saving you for last, or it's riding a container ship to you?  (Was looking at USPS international rates a while back, and that's the cheapest option, if the shipper doesn't mind the wait...)

I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that KMOS bought Amiga OS from Amiga Inc, and not the whole company.  If this is indeed the case, they would have assumed none of the debts of Amiga Inc.

that was my impression as well.
but whatever the situation is, does it really matter what KMOS does?

does it really affect your life?

maybe it never will, maybe KMOS will do something (aside from very kindly collecting as many addresses they can and sending out t-shirts).

when something happens that catches my attention, then we can talk about it.

until then, just concentrate on your own work. (not pointing to anyone here, just the "general "you")

No, KMOS bought the rights to the Amiga OS from ITech which bought them from Amiga, Inc. Later on, KMOS bought Amiga, Inc. So, Amiga, Inc. has DE and KMOS owns them plus owns Amiga OS directly.

Isn't the Amiga Community fun?

Since Amiga, Inc. never disolved, went bust, declared bancruptcy and is now a child company of KMOS. Remember it wasn't obsorbed into KMOS. Amiga, Inc. still exists. They are responcible for the t-shirts and etc. Gary Harre as CEO of KMOS, the parent company of Amiga, Inc., said he'd get those t-shirts out. KMOS was going to take it apon itself to fufill one of Amiga, Inc.'s contracts, that's what a sale is when you purchase something for delivery, as an act of good faith to the Amiga User Community.

Now given the way the t-shirts are being sent, it could take a while. I have yet to figure out a ryme or reason to the pattern of deliveries. It could be by country, alphabetical, or order of purchase. Also, it could have just gotten lost in the mail.
I'd say try contacting Amiga, Inc or ask on AW.net who would be the best to contact. Then again it could show up in the mail next week.

Precisely - Exactamente!
 :inquisitive:
BTW.:
I didn't get mine up to now, eigther...

But that doesn't surprise me too much, as I read that even people, who never bought the coupon, already received an t-shirt...
 :-?
All the best,

Dandy
