I have a major mystery I don't understand about Valentine's Day.

That's flowers - what's the point? I'm sure the flowers themselves are much happier still attached to the plant. And much as I would like to find a use for them, butchered plant gonads just strike me as a totally pointless gift. I could see the point if the man had to climb a mountain to get them, but paying £50 from Interflora after a 3 minute drive for a handful of greenhouse-raised genetically spliced shrubbery is insane. I mean, if women are so materialistic that they require some kind of sacrifice, why not buy them something USEFUL? Something that's not going to wither and die after three amazing days of not actually doing anything?

I've only bought flowers once, actually for Christmas. I never found out if they were really appreciated or thrown away, but that's another story.

I think it's much better to make or create something for the object of your affections... and not just on Valentine's Day.

I agree with Punkie
Money is for things you (really) need
but mostly for the rest, like these kinda attentions, you mainly need your own creativity.

I intend to have a crack at drawing by hand one of our wedding photos... And if that fails, I'll probably buy Chocs :-D Maybe even both.

@Karlos, your pic will be posted probably tomorrow. Only the Gods of the postal service will be able to tell you when it will arrive ;-)

Blessed Be,
