Hum,
The film with Sean Connery has already been mentioned, and the bond movies… (or the one with Micheal Cane and the ruthless Russian agent (Pierce Brosnan) who is trying to smuggle in and detonate an atomic bomb ...)
The Fourth Protocol

(a lot of people know that)

But check out `The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming`

But what about `Stalingrad` or `enemy at the gate`, (it was pretty cold then)

And of course Das Boot has to be mentioned.

  Under fire?
http://www.thehotspotonline.com/moviespot/holly/u/underfire.htm

And I seem to remember `Letter From Russia`(??), a romance between a british girl and a Russian sailor.

I have to say, you have superb taste in movies, especially enemy at the gate and das boot :-)

Red Dawn is a good film?  Even Rambo III was more realistic.

Oh get off it Kenny :whack: Red Dawn was a good no-brainer movie. It's a MOVIE not a documentary, it's not supposed to be realistic. It does(or i should say DID) play into the cold war fears of the 1980's.

A kid watching it for the first time now in the year 2005 might think it's just some crappy unrealistic flick, it's dated for sure. In it's day it was a good flick.

-Edit-

Talking about dated movies.. I purchased The Day After on DVD recently, man-o-man is that dated  I still enjoyed watching it again, but the younger generations probably wouldn't get it.

It's not even a good no-brainer movie. Just like Rambo III. :)
