Thanks pet, but I'm not sure I see how a putrid sock full to the brim of another man's dried up reproductive juices will help...

Are there any tried and tested 'sleeping in a noisy environment' methods you guys have?

Yup, plain old yellow ear plugs.

They work like a charm. I used them for sleeping at musicfestivals, hostels, at home and at my parents with the nieces over (very young kids, i.e. they wake up at ungodly hours) in the room next to me.

Look on the bright side, you`ve got 50m less building to fall on you.. :-o

There is one surefire way to goto sleep.. whilst at work, record the daytime TV, then play it back in bed at night.
On schedule, and suing

Solution?

A g/f and a set of earplugs.  You can happily snooze away knowing your lady friend will gently wake you up in the morning with far more subtlety than either an alarm clock or the sound of Chris Moyles's voice at 07:30 Am.

Actually it takes some trial and error to find a g/f with the correct technique of waking you up, but the selection process can be fun.

Even if you put it in radiomode at maximum volume? I mean, earplugs are good, but not *THAT* good :-).

Nice in theory, but I see a bit of a logical flaw. The erstwhile good lady would also likely be wearing earplugs to keep the noise out :-)
