Ok, I've been looking at Blitz Basic I downloaded 2.3 unpacked it, ran the install file. Open the IDE, opened a bb2 sample. Hit the "Compile & Run" menu option. And poof..it didn't run. ;-).
I assumed running the Install file would make it so I could compile at least the sample files ;-). So then my question is for those of you running Blitz Basic on UAE or WinUAE (WinUAE in my case). After running the Install file, what else do I need to do to get it to compile it's own samples?
I have WinUAE Emulating a 68040 Amiga Running Kickstart 3.1 Amiga OS 3.1 I have blitz basic (amiblitz actually) installed in my emulated hard drive here called Applications
Hence Applications:AmiBlitz2 is where everything resides.
1. Should I use a different foldername than AmiBlitz2?
2. 2 things were added to my user-startup when I did the install. Is that normal ?
assign >NIL: Blitz2: "Applications:Amiblitz2"
assign >NIL: BlitzLibs: "Applications:Amiblitz2/Blitzlibs"
3. Is there a place in the IDE (the editor that has the compile menu in it :-). to add paths where it can look for libraries or others?
For ACE. That too I installed to the same harddrive on the same emulator and followed the instructions in the install file (added paths and assigns etc). I try to run AIDE (I have the last version the one that went OpenSource). I get an error running AIDE, the following message is given to me: "Mrt.Library not opened" So what's my problem...is it that I'm running the emulator WinUAE, is it the install instructions that are faulty? anyone here managed to make ACE or AmiBlitz work?
Thank you all, I can't wait to get started, so if you got a sec, answer me soon? while I still got hair on head ? lol
