WARNING: 'Rohypnol, date rape drug...'
« on: September 10, 2004, 09:15:49 AM »
Greetings,

My friend Emailed me this true story, thought I'd like to share it here. Maybe you've heard about this drug, I'm telling you. It disturbs me! :pissed: Read on-->

SHOCKING TRUE STORY: (INDIA)

A woman at a Gas nightclub (Mumbai) on Saturday night was taken by 5
men, who according to hospital and police reports, gang raped her before
dumping her at Bandstand Mumbai. Unable to remember the events of the
evening, tests later confirmed the repeat rohypnol in her blood.

Rohypnol, date rape drug is an essentially a small sterilization pill.

The drug is now being used by rapists at parties to rape AND sterilize
their victims. All they have to do is drop it into the girl's drink.
The girl can't remember a thing the next morning, of all that had taken
place the night before. Rohypnol, which dissolves in drinks just as
easily, is such that the victim doesn't conceive from the rape and the
rapist needn't Worry about having a paternity test identifying him months
later.

The Drug's affects ARE NOT TEMPORARY - they are PERMANENT. Any female
that takes it WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CONCEIVE. The weasels can get this
drug from anyone who is in the vet school or any university. It's that
easy, and Rohypnol is about to break out big on campuses everywhere.
Believe it or not, there are even sites on the Internet telling people how
to use it.

There was already been a report in Singapore of girls drink been Spike
by Rohypnol.

Please make the effort to forward this to everyone you know.

For guys - Pls inform all your female friends and relatives, remember
you also have daughters and sisters.

Regards,

Gizz

Rohypnol does not sterilize anyone, though it sure can render someone unconcious if taken in too large doses.
(Progesterex doesn't exist, should anyone wonder)

@ Gizz

Rohypnol is used in hospitals as a sedative and does not cause sterilization.
There is an urban legend of the drug Progesterex being mixed with Rohypnol for the purposes of date rape and sterilization, but this is just a legend. There is no such sterilization drug being used on unsuspecting women.
As for Rohypnol (or "Roofies") being slipped into drinks, this has happened, and in some places women have been advised to:

1) Not accept a drink from a stranger, unless she has seen it being decanted at the bar.
2) Not leave a drink unattended.
3) Make use of the chemical strips provided by some establishments. These change colour if dipped into a drink that is spiked with "Roofies"

Edit: damn!! Whabang beat me again

Hum,
I've heard of stories of guys waking up and  finding out that their kidney had been removed, while they had been sedated...

Well, a kidney could be worth about £20,000 if you had the tissue type and medical history of the 'donor' in advance. I know that organ theft has been done in India, but I'm not sure that it was done on the 'gentlemanly' basis of performing a semi-sterile procedure under sedation.
Now wasn't there a Robin Cook novel about somebody who was on the waiting list for a new heart or liver? If I remember correctly, the guy found out who was on the organ donor list, got their tissue types off the hospital computers and then 'helped' people of the same tissue type to have accidents that would ultimately make them suitable for organ harvesting...
I suppose it's not a big stretch for something like that to happen in reality  :-o

Roofies are real, rapist have been using them for ages. They do not cause sterilisation though. AFAIK it's the same drug as a 'Mickey'.

Once back in my drinking days, I got a spiked drink. I'm a rather large guy of mostly Irish heritage, I had an extreme tolerance to alcohol. One day drinking at a bar, a girl offers me a mixed drink that she says she doesn't want. She said someone bought it for her and she didn't want it. Not being one to turn down a free drink, down it went. The next several hours are blank. Like IMMEDIATELY after, blank. I NEVER - EVER got black outs drinking. This is the one and only time. All I know is a few hours later I find myself driving around aimlessly ~30 miles away. When whatever it was' effects wore off, it wore off quick. By no means was I drunk, it was something else. Scary stuff. Some guy probably wanted to rape her, and she didn't trust the drink so she passed it on to me. :pissed:

The moral of this story? Don't accept a drink from ANYONE you don't know. Thank God I didn't run anyone over with my car, I would be in prison because someone else spiked the drink. Better yet, drink coffee instead:-D
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

That is an urban legend. Organ harvesters generally kill you outright.

Of course. Why would they settle for one kidney when they could have two, a liver, a heart, eye lenses, skin, intestine, lots of blood... Someone unprincipled enough to knock someone out and steal their organs isn't going to be nice enough to be moderate and sew them back up later. :)

Without in any way wanting to trivialise the threat to women, people seem to forget - men are also at risk. When I was at university in London, there was a spate of cases of men being raped. It isn't just a female phenomenon.

Its the same with assault - women worry about walking home alone late at night, but men are 5 times (IIRC) more likely to be attacked.
My experience of late night post pub brawls is that even some of the nastiest, ugliest brutes wouldn't think of hitting a woman, yet they'd happily keep kicking you when you're lying on the ground helpless.
