Well, it's summer here, you know, and vacation and so, it's just cucumber time.

Well it looks like Manchester here at the moment, pouring rain and freezing cold. TBH, I was actually hoping the sun would shine for the first time ever on my b'day, oh well, there's always next year :-)

Edit...Good grief, the sun actually came out for a whole 15 minutes, it was wonderful, then it started pouring down again :-(

Edit 2...Well, the crappy weather was well and truely made up for by the wonderful dinner that the missus made, along with the presence of my family and friends it was a wonderful occaision :-)

Happy birthday for the other day mate
I like Amigas

You've only got yourself to blame for it being tender, maybe a small courgette would be better ? ;-)

Don't get me wrong, but I thought you were older, kinda like 35 or so, since you got a (6yo iirc) kid and an ex-wife...

sigh, I want to go out this evening and yet I don't

maybe tomorrow...

I have (or should I now say had?) a ten year old step-daughter too. I can't say I love her like my own at times though! ;-)

Tis only  40 days to the Best Beer-Fest on the Planet
OKTOBERFEST...

Sadly I will miss this year's festivities :(

But on that note -- I've always had a taste for good beer.
Now  it seems German Beer is the best to me:

the best beer

it's official!

Quote
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Monks at a Belgian abbey have been forced to stop selling their famous beer after it was voted the best in the world and was promptly sold out.

The abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren in western Belgium is home to some 30 Cistercian and Trappist monks who lead a life of seclusion, prayer, manual labor -- and beer-brewing.

A survey of thousands of beer enthusiasts from 65 countries on the RateBeer Web site (www.ratebeer.com) in June rated the Westvleteren 12 beer as the world's best.    But the abbey only has a limited brewing capacity, and was not able to cope with the beer's sudden popularity.

"Our shop is closed because all our beer has been sold out," said a message on the abbey's answering machine, which it calls the "beer phone."

And the abbey has no intention of boosting its capacity to satisfy market demand.

"We are not brewers, we are monks. We brew beer to be able to afford being monks," the father abbot said on the abbey's Web site.

Monk Mark Bode told De Morgen daily: "Outsiders don't understand why we are not raising production. But for us life in the abbey comes first, not the brewery."
