Since reinstalling software and trying again and again hasn't offered any solution so far, i decided to check if the thing works in OS4. Any idea on how i will install it? Does it need any extra configuration? Is Poseidon necessary in OS4 or installing it won't make the subway work? I believe that OS4 has a built in usb stack but will it collaborate with subway just out of the box or does it need tweaking? I tried yesterday but i suppose that i have to do that extra thing that i'm missing right now. Any OS4 users with USB please?

Have you tried ANAIIS ?
http://aminet.net/package/driver/other/anaiis

It's better to use lha to extract .lha files...

How to install:
-extract files.
-read the readme file (yes begin by that)
- in the bin folder, launch usbstart, it will detect automatically the Subway.

If it doesn't work, your Subway or the clockport has a problem...

Hello guys,

just feel like making a small remark on this case.
I'm in contact now with Portarinos, and we could figure out that either the SUBWAY or his clockport are somehow misbehaving.

Finally, we could also get some debug logs sent (yeah, floppy disks are not dead yet, and CrossDOS helps :-)

I din't know that this is a crime and that you only answer officialy (sic) to e-mails!

...

In fact as i wrote before this is a community forum where not everybody is experts. Is this a crime? Nah!

I may remark here that both Chris and me have "real" jobs, and a private life also - so we do simply not have the time to scan all Amiga boards each day for potential customer problems - that's why we have support mails printed in the manual. Feel free to ask in the Amiga boards in parallel, or use the highway_usb mailing list, but give us a chance for support by sending us a mail.

If somebody contacts us, we try to help as good as we can.

Nevertheless, this case should be sorted out soon.
For the future, I may ask all people encountering problems with our products to contact us directly by mail.
This helps you, as we can react fast, and helps us also (the time issue).

Thanks in advance!

Michael

Hi there Michael. I have to state some things to the knowledge of everybody. First of all Michael (E3B) is a really helpful guy that has responded literally immediately to every mail i sent him. The subway card that misbehaves with my clockport is on its way to E3B for further testing. Amigakit also have responded to my "calls" for help.

I will have to repeat that the thread here was opened because i thought that the subway wasn't working due to a software failure or something that someone else has encountered in the past. I have always found useful advice and helpful people in all the amiga forums. I didn't come directly to you because i really know how busy you are, so if it was sth simple i could have solved it without disturbing you. Anyway, now i know that direct contact is better.

Hope that i'll have good news soon and i'm pretty sure this issue will be sorted out.

Btw "Real life" and "private life" too goes for everybody. :-)  :-)

Cheers

Depends on how you define "good" :-)

The SUBWAY you sent in is in perfect working condition, as well as the clockport flat ribbon cable.
Your SUBWAY passed all tests here, including heavy USB traffic mounted on a HIGHWAY clockport (which has much more aggressive timings than the A1200 original one).

As both cable and SUBWAY work flawlessy here, the root of your problem must be hidden somewhere in your system.

So one thing to check for you next will be your A1200 clockport: how is the connector mounted on the PCB (check your SUBWAY manual in the middle)?

Nope. It is for sure some kind of hardware problem, as even the test programs for the SUBWAY couldn't find the board.

Short update in this issue: bug found.

The clockport connector on Spiros mainboard is on the "right" side of connector P9B, but only 2x10 pins are soldered in, and not 2x11 as needed.

Which means as consequence that one GND pin and the +5V power pin are missing.

As Michael stated the problem was the lack of 2 pins fom my miggy's clockport. Anyway, Michael kindly prepared a custom cable which has been received and everything works great now. I should also mention what a helpful person Michael (E3B) has been and of course fast as well. Cheers m8.

You're welcome.
It was a real strange problem with your setup, never seen (or even thought) of that before...

Anyway, it works, and this was the real aim :-)
