Minimig on XMos?
No.
AGA on XMos?
Certainly not.
In fact I've yet to hear
any valid use for the chip. Other than that it seems the whole marketing revolves around it now. The chip being as unusable as it is, the whole thing is heading for a disaster. But clearly I am wrong, just look at all the cool things that the FPGA on SAM made possible...
I would like to know if the XMos can boot without the entire X1000 booting too.
Unlikely. The chip needs a programming, which cannot happen unless if the entire system is operational.
On my PC I can play audio CD's without booting up (with Asus Instant Music). If I could boot up just the XMos controlling a CD-ROM drive to use as a CD32 that would ROCK!
Won't happen, not with XMOS chip at least.
PS. I made a quick informal poll among the "former AmigaOS users". They weren't exactly inspired.
