One simple question from me.

What ransom do you want to release the hostage Amiga OS?

Other than that, I'm through. I think I have all the answers I need about AmiInc.

I don't think it's up to Amiga Inc as long as there is a legal issue as to who actually owns it

Of course it is. AmiInc owns all OS source up to 3.9. If that was handed over to Hyperion, I'm guessing licenses for other platforms wouldn't be far behind.

and Hyperion has disappeared.

Do we know that, or have they just been served a gag order while legal proceding progress? I can think of several reasons they're running stealth at the moment. Doesn't mean they're gone for ever.

Besides, you have no hardware to run it on.

Pah-leeeze, there's a planet full of hardware to run it on. All it takes is a port. All that's needed for a port is permission from the IP holder. All we need is an IP holder open to the idea.

There is zero chance of them releasing it open source.

No argument there. Even as a corpse, the remains of the Amiga IP are worth $$$ and they're not going to give it away for free.

"ready to do another 20 questions any time we are"

Sure I'm game. Let me phrase the sentiment of my earlier comment in to a question.....

Q) Will Amiga Inc allow smaller hardware vendors like ATI Innovations (SAM440EP Project) and EFKIA vendors to sell bundled Amiga Software on a 'per-device' license while dropping annual revenue restrictions?

@Thread

Pretty close poll so far. Fall out from either a 'yes' or 'no' final vote should be interesting.

Amiga Inc. have never, in anyway supported AROS.

They've never directly opposed it either. I wonder what might happen if that attitude changes.

Nothing, since they own nothing involved in the AROS project

You know better than that. How many times have decisions been made based on who has the better lawyers opposed to who's wrong or right? Besides AROS uses A.Inc's trade mark in their name, or did you forget? "Amiga Research Operating System". Hopefully Amiga Inc will continue with their benevolent attitude.

A inc couldn't afford the lawyer needed to sue over one hundred people

Well 6 months ago they couldn't afford to fund a hockey team either, so some thing has changed. Even Hummpa points out that lawyers may play a part in any plan to inforce IP claims in cases of infringments.

Sure AROS can chage the name (I liked YAROS), but that may or may not be enough to avoid trouble with A.Inc if they get a bug in the bonnet about the project.

Was the poll still running, or are we done with that? I've noticed it missing from the front page since yesterday.

Hmmm.... The 20-Q offer and the announment were made roughly the same time. So does this mean and automatic Yes or No to the session? If some one's said already, I missed it.
