With "external audio out" I meant the rear audio socket. HDMI doesn't work for me with any of my monitors or TV.

Amiga User Group News / Next SCCAN meeting - Saturday, July 12, 2025
« Last post by RobertB on July 05, 2025, 02:30:59 AM »
Happy 4th of July, C= and Ami aficionados!
The next meeting of the Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network is Saturday, July 12, from 2 to 5+ p.m. at

  Panera Bread Restaurant
  19662 Nordhoff Street
  Northridge, California
  (818) 407-9400

For discussion we'll talk about the Pacific Commodore Expo NW which just happened in Seattle and the upcoming Amiga 40th which is happening on August 1 and 2 at the Vintage Computer Festival West in Mountain View, California.
In hardware, we'll look at Tom M.'s Amiga 3000 which was very dead but has been brought back to life, thanks to the efforts of Duncan MacDougall of RELICS (Retro Equipment Lovers International Society) in San Jose, CA.  The Ultimate 64 reappears with the latest C64 software from Itch.io and the updated TeensyROM C64/128 cartridge.  And if I have the energy for it, the Miracle Piano Teaching System will reappear, too.  :)
If you have any software and/or hardware that you'd like us to see, bring it along!

          Truly,
          Robert Bernardo

P.S. Our September meeting is planned for the 20th, the weekend before the Bay Area Maker Faire!

Agreed! Apple truly are the complete opposite of their "Think Different!" slogan now. It is now "Think what we tell you to think! Tim knows best!"

Commodore could have been like Apple is today.
Oh my goodness, please no. That would have been utterly horrendous to have two companies making products with planned obsolescence of less than one year.

Mick Tinker and Alan Redhouse for me! They could both do wonders with limited resources!

@polyp2000

We are all "old" aren't we? A ridiculous overreaction to a fair comment if you ask me! I think what he was trying to say was more in line with the now deemed politically incorrect advert for Kia-Ora where all the crows want to get in with the gang by pretending to be the kid's dog to get some of that sweet sweet orange drink! To have all these people coming out of the woodwork to basically answer the question, "What would Jack Tramiel have done?" is a bit backward looking TBH! I mean even Atari had to but a modern spin on the Atari VCS when they relaunched it!

Maybe we do need a Thomas Rattigan type character from Pepsi to keep all these misty eyed nostalgia biased people on the straight and narrow? We've got RGL for these sorts of products and I don't really think a 6% C= licensing tax is going to open the flood gates to better products! The problem is going to be defending the IP not getting Bll Herd's input into how we could launch a product like the C128!

THEA1200 is now down for a Q1 2026 release! I couldn't care less if it has C= on it but I would like to see the 'A1200' trademark freely usable on products licensed from Amiga Corp! Is that too much for an "old" man to ask!  ;)

A600GS & A1200NG / Re: A1200NG NOW with CPU Boost upgrade Kit running WB & Games

Are you planning to make overclocking available for the A600GS as well, or will this feature remain exclusive to the A1200NG?
