« on: July 02, 2004, 02:12:20 PM »
Hum,
i just noticed the Elbox advert on the banner-bit of this forum...

What a refreshingly novel (and commercial) approach...

loads of `stuff` from Elbox before>

Many years ago, my dad was in Ireland on St. Patrick's Day.  A particular pub was doing an offer where you would pick a piece of paper out of a bucket at the bar, it would have a year number on it, and you would pay for the drinks based on what price they were that year.

Just imagine, a pint of Guinness for a couple of pence...

:-o

Where I live £2.00 is considered a cheap pint!
Guinness and Stella will set you back about £2.60.

And when I lived in London, £3.00 for a pint was quite common, and that was a couple of years back!
I like Amigas

£1.20 for a pint???  :-o  :-o  :-o In Dublin, in some of the "Trendy" bars, you can pay well over €5 for a pint. Average daytime prices are around €4-€4.50, that's around £3 sterling!
