What's your favorite magazine?

:-)
I've often found myself browsing through 'Next: Current Affairs' & 'Next: Entertainment'

Probably my favorite.

In an attempted effort to lessen the amount of time I spend sitting in front of this high-tech boob tube browsing randomly around, I've subscribed to dozens of magazines. Well, I've hardly even looked at them, and spend more time reading the free catalogs looking for neat things to buy!

Are there even any good magazines left anymore? It seems like nowdays a monthly magazine won't entertain for more than one or two restroom visits. Are today's magazines getting shorter, or are my restroom breaks taking... oh hell I don't even want to know

Back in the day, favorites in chronological order (can you tell ):

Picture Page (weekly, from Capt. Kangaroo)
Analog
Amazing (?)
Asimovs (?)
Boy's life
Popular electronics/science/mechanics
Car Craft
Playboy
Games (Whatever happened to them? that was great!)
Architectural Digest
Readers Digest
Car & Driver
National Geographic

Nowdays:

Sears catalog, Sharper Image catalog, Bass Pro catalog, oh hell, anything with cool things for sale P-)
this space for rent

Why did americans have to change a perfectly reasonable would and eliminate the 'u'? 'favorite' indeed. Almost as bad as 'a-loo-min-um'.

But anyway.

I tend to flick through Retro Gamer magazine when it's in WHSmith's (£7? no ta. Nice Gremlin collection DVD on the front though. Maybe it's even legal.)

Otherwise...'heat' (lovely gossip magazine that doesn't pretend to hide away from cheese like Peter Andre)

and 'Autosport' (Come on! Get in! One point for Minardi and Zsolt Baumgartner! Oh yeah! More of the same please...),

'F1 Racing' (er, see previous comment) and that's about it.

Don't even get the likes of Q or PC Gamer any more. Not that I could identify with many PC games...oh, sure, TOCA Race Driver 2 is nice, and I'll always get Monkey Island games, but otherwise...no thanks, I don't want a stealth FPS, or strategy game.

Amiga Format was king. When I was a kid I used to buy loads of mags. Mostly computer - the odd bit of filth (I worked in a petrol station) which I would sell on for a profit after I photocopied or scanned it to sell round school. White Dwarf and more comics than I could afford.

But now I just get Private Eye, sometimes Mens Health (when it says guaranteed results - my arse!), Canoeist, MicroMart.
The REAL BOBSON - accept no immitations!
