DKB 1240 ram problem...posible short to shield
« on: June 29, 2004, 10:34:39 AM »
I have one of these that will not work if there is ram installed comes up with a pink screen, seems to work ok with out the ram, have tried several sims and this one was working...

Any Ideas? There is a scratch on the PCB where it looks as though the A1200's metal shielding has rubbed through the insulation layer.
has any one seen this before and is it fixable?

OK I've done some more checking, any one herd of these boards not working with 3.1 roms?

seems when I put the 3.0 roms back all seems fine, but this cards ram is not working with 3.1 roms.

so its not a card fault at all...

Maybe their are newer onboard ROMs for the card with 3.1 support... although I'd say good luck finding them...
