SoundBlaster128
« on: January 26, 2003, 03:28:10 PM »
What's with Mediator and their "Mixer"?
This is supposed to run the SB128?
It crashes my bootup and the only way I can fix it is to delete all of the SB128 software.
How do I get the SoundBlaster PCI card to work?
A1200, '060, 128MB ram, SCSI 1230, Voodoo3, 10/100 NIC, and of course SoundBlaster128 PCI.
Thanks!!

hmm AHI and the Mixer have nothing to do with each other, its probably an env variable setup wrong or something.

Well if you put the software from the MMCD in with the card in a open slot it should work fine. The only time I had a problem was when I tried to install the software first and booted with no card installed. The MMCD is a requirment and you MUST have a legal version of it with the included mach chips installed in your mediator. Sounds to me you dont have them or you tried to install the software from a MMCD update before the MMCD was installed first.

If you are into music-creation, i suggest you go for a TerraTec 512i Digital...and make sure you have the latest AHI and drivers... :-)

Good luck..

He is using a classic amiga with a mediator and it only supports the SB128 at this time.

Make sure that you have MUI installed and that the MUI assign has been created before Mixer is started.

Well, I haven't been using my miggy so much lately, due to lack of time and interest. I waited for OS4 very eagerly, but the months passed and no OS4 showed up. I think all this wait have made lose some of my interest in Amiga.. sad but true.

I still got Payback, but I don't play it because I don't have a Blizzard PPC anymore and software rendering sucks :-D

I am about to loose interest myself. I have the card installed, MUI 3.8 installed, AHI installed and when I install ATA'99 the whole thing goes to crap.
I like my Amiga, but this is a lot of work, considering that I can buy a COMPLETE 2gH Msuck machine for the price of an A1 board alone.
Not only that, there are TONS of Apps and Games for the Msuck that just isn't there for Amiga.
A1 or not.
But I am still trying to raise the Amiga from the Grave!!
