Musical Opposites
« on: June 20, 2004, 12:11:31 AM »
Something popped into my head the other day, would be fun to find out what you lot can add to it ...

Musical opposites - take a tune and a performer that would sound cool/funny/wierd together.

I'd love to hear Cameo's 'Word Up' sung by Daleks, or Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' sung by Celine Dion :-)

(yes this has replaced the annoying song game in my head ... argh!)

This idea was taken to its logical conclusion when Anal C**t, a grindcore band notorious for their repulsively misogynistic and violent lyrical themes, released an album of acoustic songs with titles such as 'I Couldn't Afford to Buy You a Present (So I Wrote You This Song)' and 'I Respect Your Feelings as a Woman and a Human.'

Have you heard Pat Boone's album "In a Metal Mood"?

It's a blast hearing Pat cover 'Enter Sandman' by Metallica...and also if you've seen the Mtv show "The Osbourne's" you can hear Pat's cover of 'Crazy Train'.

Seriously, if you don't have this album, by all means get it!

That reminds me!

Rather funny, if memory serves; Metallica-style covers of Beatles songs! :-D
