Inagadadabida by 'Iron Butterfly'

Hello everyone,
Yup you read it correctly. It's a late 60's rock song. Although I never heard it. A friend at the office told me the orignal record was an LP(Long playing) record. I could not believe this song is the longest. Just Side A is just the tip then and extends to Side B. Any body here would prove/disprove this song otherwise?? :-)

If there is such a song exists in the web I'm looking for it now, but not sure If it does. Thought I post it just in case someone here knows it, or my friend is just pulling-my-leg. Tell me soon. Thanks to all.

You'd have more luck finding it if you spelled it "Inagadadavida" or "In-a-gadda-da-vida".

Here's a teensy bit o' info.

Original name of the song was "In the garden of Eden" but apparently the singer was on something when he tried to sing, and the name just stuck.

Hoya!

Nonono! Here is the real story:

The band were at the singer's (or guitarist's I do not recall) and he told them he wrote a new cool song.
They asked for the title and since he was a bit plastered, he moaned something which sounded like In-A-Gadda_da_vida.

The song, by Iron Butterfly, is, indeed part of the album with the same name. It is a long tune, almost 20 minutes.

If you love long, progressive music (in the general meaning), try to get Get Ready by Rare Earth (I think it has not been issued on CD), both Sweet Smoke albums (very nice prog Jazz-Rock), ANY Fela Kuti album (his tunes were around 15 minutes each) or Miles Davis' so-called electric albums from the 70's :-)

If you want more info about good music, just ask :-)
