Why havn't you left negative feedback :-?
He'd only earn himself retaliatory negative feedback from the seller. I've stopped leaving neg fb's now, rather than risk losing my Power Seller status as a result of dropping below 98%.
As for getting your money back from Ebay, not a chance.
I got ripped off a few weeks back for over £500 -I won a laptop auction and paid the money into his bank account.
Two days later Ebay tells me the guy has had his account suspended for fraud. I try the guys Ebay contact info - the phone number is a taxi firm, the address is a student flat in London.
I call the police and they won't do anything ("It happens all the time, just be more careful in future").
The bank into which I paid the money won't give any info out without a court order, which the police can't be bothered to get.
Ebay wont give me any money - "We're just a venue", they say. "Sales are private deals between individuals" etc...
They need to offer more protection, but when something goes wrong, they just wash their hands of it. All theyre interested in is getting their fees. Meanwhile, people are being ripped off left, right and centre.
The fact that someone was allowed to register as a seller on Ebay using a fake name, fake phone number and fake address, and proceed to sell £1000's worth of goods he didnt have doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
