A3000 Tower are they any good?
« on: June 16, 2004, 09:01:27 PM »
I have an opportunity to get an A3000 tower with alot of extra goodies, are they any good? I hear they are easier to expand do to room in the tower case. Tell me what ya think.

If you plan on keeping your Amiga in a stock case, the C= A3000T is probably the best Amiga ever made.

BTW I like your sig. A republican in Califronia eh? You must be an endangered species;-)

The A3000T is argueably the best AMIGA ever made.  Yes, it is far more (easily) expandable then the desktop A3000, particularly if you want to get into video work (Toaster, Flyer, etc..).  The only other AMIGA I would consider would be an A4000T for the same reasons.

10 minutes to go is a stand up bid, within the last minute is a snipe since there isn't time to raise your bid. ive been truely sniped and sniped good a few times and it is frustating; but if you had 10 minutes! man 10 minutes is an eternity on ebay sometimes. i sat waiting to the last second on an amiga 4000 once. thought i had the bid all  wrapped up and instead of getting a bid win email 30 seconds after bidding ended i got an outbid notince. now that was a frustating snipe!
Oh yeah?!?
Well your stupid bit is set,
and its read only!

An a4000 tower got snapped up on ebay.co.uk for about 120 quid yesterday.

Thats less than this a3000t was snapped up for even with the abysmal value of the $.

It was much more laden with goodies too.

Yeah, well, the whole idea with Ebay is, you eneter in your Max bid, the first time, so, sniping basically can't happen, atleast not in ten minutes, because you wouldn't have payed more, right?

That is, if it weren't for people losing their sanity in the last few seconds of an auction :-).

I think that this seller of the A3000T screwed himself out of an extra couple of hundred $$$ just by not offering shipping, but pick-up only. This of course provided a great deal to people living nearby. ;-)

Huh?  You were cleanly outbid with over an hour and a half left.  Then someone sniped that person, with only 45 seconds left.

So.  Someone sniped it, but you weren't the victim...  ;-)
bid history...

[edit] and none of those people are me -- that's a heck of a drive from here!
