JWZ vs. Catweasel (Attn: Jens?)
« on: June 10, 2004, 03:47:19 PM »
So JWZ, if you haven't heard of him, is a sort of net-celebrity, being 'the xscreensaver guy,' the first to shout 'Mozilla!' in a crowded room, and the owner of a nightclub for nerds.  (Well, it rhymed.)  Turns out he also owned an Amiga at one point, but managed to make a success of himself in spite of it.

Anyhow, it seems he's picked up a Catweasel, but had his usual luck with it.  Even the best of us can, um, well... go look.

I'm posting this both as a heads-up for Jens, if he's around (erm, it sure is hard to find an email address to point someone to for support, or is that in the manual that obviously wasn't read?)... and to satisfy my own curiosity, because I think I've just maaaaybe solved it with "Ignore cw2dmk and try `mount -t affs /dev/cw0amigadd /mnt`"...

...Is it even *possible* to make a .DMK of an Amiga disk, cw2dmk seeming to be designed for formats that have a concept of a physical index?

This is a *bump,* in the sense that I've been offering dumb ideas and he still hasn't got it working, while apparently he's still having no luck waving down Michael Krause.

Assuming it's a 2.4 kernel, surely there's some sort of dumb known conflict with devfs or something, is my best guess?  (<3 FreeBSD)
