You can re-enact the Iraq war on the beach. Or make some mosque sandcastles and re-do the invasion of Baghdad

Looks cool. And yes, I would have loved to have one of those when I was a kid  :-D

I always wanted a yellow Tonka truck... Crap, now you've got me looking at toys on eBay. :-)

No, I never liked the remote killing with guns, tanks etc.

I prefer the claymore, far more passionate.

@ odin,

That is cool. First I think I'll have one of those electric B-2 remote airplanes. Then I'll have an A-1 tank.

And a Knights Templar sword, and a Japanese Katana  :-D

Well, I own a Claymore too (but it's 10 cm longer than standard, because of my arm length)
My sword is unique, it has been made for me by a traditional smith.
and yes, I love my sword too :-)

ps. Katana's are bowed, you can't stab with it and overall these swords do not seem to be very practical in fight. According to me these swords are overhyped.
I think the most deadly sword is the rapier.

ehm eh, well, not really, I think, I mean, I once participated in a 'life role playing game' event (I rather do not want to be remembered about that). I wielded a latex sword quite quickly there and I can imagine how you have to handle these real swords (and how quick you have to be and how tiresome swordfighting can be)

My Monster Beetle

I think not selling it was a sign that I should keep it forever.

I tried following a fencing course at the ACLO but I gave up after a few lessons. I'm way too slow and clumsy for that sport :-). It was pretty good fun though. I've always wondered if there were any sword courses being tought anywhere...

Unfortunately, it was stolen in a burglary. :-(

They're not meant for a fight, only for one slash - and they were razor sharp. With one lightning strike (ai-jitsu), you were meant to kill the opponent. Hence the lack of shields in Japanese warfare. Everything about a katana is designed for that first strike. They don't stab, they don't parry.

Rapiers are the ultimate fencing sword, but were no battlefield weapon. I wouldn't have taken on a samurai with one. A duel tool for dandies only. :)

Interesting historical fact: Jim Bowie, inventor of the knife carrying his name, was stabbed in the chest with a rapier during a duel. The blade deflected off his breastbone and didn't pierce anything vital. He then killed his opponent with his famous knife.
