Reinstalling Miami
« on: May 31, 2004, 03:47:44 PM »
I recently got an Amiga 3000. In setting it up, I backed up the System partition and proceeded to reinstall 3.1 and 3.5.

A fully registered version of Miami came with the 3000. I have the keyfile and everything. However, Miami starts up as an evaluation version. I have reinstalled Miami from the disks and tried installing the keyfile via the Miami Registration app. I've also tried using the original folder... er... drawer (my Mac is showing) from the backup. Nothing seems to get Miami out of evaluation mode.

Does Miami store settings somewhere besides the Miami: directory? How can I get the keyfile to be recognized so I can restore Miami to its fully-registered glory?

Thanks.

Dan

For running MiamiDeluxe in registered mode you need three files: Miami.key1, Miami.key2 and MiamiDx.key.

In order to run Miami (not deluxe) in registered mode you need Miami.key1 and Miami.key2.

I doubt that MiamiRegister is of any help because for almost anything it does it needs the registration server at nordicglobal.com which stopped running long ago.
