Against. Because putting on the aftershave feels more manly that way. :-D

Yeah, for a second it feels like you've got away with it and then the pain hits you like a thousand needles leaving you squealing in pain at your reflection in the bathroom mirror before splashing cold water on your face and trying not to cry like a baby.

It's a manly feeling alright.

I'm assuming you still shave elsewhere, so with or against the grain? I go with the grain mainly because it itches less when it grows back.

Oh no, I know where this one's going....

oh...THAT!
well, one can use NAIR
just don't leave it on longer than it says to (usually 4 minutes)

and i shave my legs against the grain.

I assumed that you'd grabbed the opportunity to link that ball hair trimmer again...but I was mistaken!

The more adventureous (and hirsute) can always opt for a "back, crack and sack" wax...

Most of my female buddies would say "Yeuch!" to that, but maybe the female contingent of Aorg are more qualified to comment on that one?

If I had a hairy back I'd get it waxed...

What's this, a thread about bodily functions and personal hygiene and I have not yet offered my opinion? :-D

If the hair's longer than ~2mm I use an electric hair-clipper first. In fact sometimes that's all I bother with, it grows back within a day anyway and it's not like I'm off out "on the pull," or however that's referred to these days. ;-)

My mum mourned the loss of my dad's beard for many years. Later, much to my disgust, I heard her enthuse about my stepdad's body hair (he's like a damn ape), so it must be a matter of taste... Or fetish.

I dunno , but beards are often mourned

I remember a few years ago, a friend of mine who'd had a beard  since he was able to grow one, shaved it off. Down at the pub, they refused to serve him till he grew it back; no word of a lie!
Everyone told him to grow the beard back, so he did.

For some reason, shaving my face is like shaving the Rocky Mountains, no matter which way I shave I always miss a spot, then I keep running the razor over the same spot in different directions trying to get the last bit of hair, then my skin ends up turning all red and sore, I just can't win :-x :-x :-x

BTW...thats one of the reasons I started this thread in the first place...

Becoming permanently pockmarked by laser pulses whilst laying back and thinking of England is a bizarre scenario. I'm not sure if its because its 5.30 am and I haven't slept yet....

Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I find that even though I've been shaving properly for about seven or eight years now, I still cut myself nine times out of ten, and get the tough bits under the chin. There's nothing like rubbing alcohol into open wounds ('to reinvigorate the senses' or some advertising speel) after the deed is done, only to find, as you're appling the aftershave, that you've missed a bit!

You see this is why its better not to have a suit and tie job - you don't have to shave every day! :-)

@T_Bone

Exactly why can't we use Nair....?

Having to shave twice daily sounds like a real ordeal to me, I think I'd give up and go furry!

@Blob

Having my excess fuzz lasered off sounds far too James Bond for my liking, I can't get the thought of being strapped to a board and carved in half out of my head.  I think I'll pass!

Eeek......that private parts vs. laser bit in Bond is very nasty. Sure did make me cross my legs.
