I do hope you are going to ship the rest of the C64 system with it ... after all it does say "Not to be sold seperatly" on the box ... ;-)

Seriously though ... $150 ??

By "selling for as much as $150" I assume you mean 'started them at $150 and no-one bought them'?

@Nightshade

You are confusing me with another eBay seller.

Well IMHO $150 is insane for them, even NOS...
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

Don't forget that this is eBay we're talking about, and often in the heat of bidding people's common sense tends to go out the window.  I bought a C64 and 1541-II from Redrum last year (both NOS), and I paid slightly less than $150 for both of them :-)

Yep... Red sold a ton of them in that price range.  I wouldn't mind a NOS 1541-II and C64c, but they went for a bit more than I was willing to spend.

The C64 was my favorite computer... up until I saw the Amiga.  Then I dropped mine like a bad habit to scrounge enough money for my first Ami.  ;-)  I suppose it still works that way.  I bought one of his NOS A500's, instead.

Unlike other vendors, they are real NOS, and in perfect shape. (As for the prices... well, people pay it.  What can you say?)

I got a new Test Pilot pack C64C+1541-II setup on eBay a year ago for $50.  I still have the 1541 new in box too.  If it really goes for $150 I'll put mine up for sale!
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

The "slightly" was supposed to be sarcastic... IIRC I think I paid closer to $70 for both the C64 and the 1541.  I did see a few of them spin out of control price-wise though (also an Atari ST that I had my eye on, but I wasn't prepared to pay over $100 on what's basically a nostalgia trip, so I was very disappointed when the price went above that)

@adolescent:

With ebay it really seems to be the luck of the draw... I've actually seen a A1000 sold for about $50 (a few years ago, when things like food took priority so I couldn't afford it :-P) and a C64 go for around $500.  If you get lucky you'll have two guys with lots more money than sense fighting over it :-)

I've taken NOS (New Old Stock) to mean anything unused and still in the package. Isn't that right?

Yep... That's what it's supposed to mean.  And the NOS A500 I bought from him was exactly the same as the new A500 I bought from a local shop back in 1990, or so.  :-)  Had all the original packaging, bags, extra cards, strange cardboard inserts, etc.

Looks like the 1541 II went for considerably cheaper than the $150 range, though.  Maybe the market got saturated by the first run of his sales.

Might also be because he's no longer doing international sales.

@redrumloa

Did you get burned a lot by international folks?
