Another WinUAE question
« on: May 05, 2004, 05:45:03 PM »
I have another question about UAE....

I D/L'ed a prg. a few months ago called WinFellow.
Apparently WinFELLOW runs from a DOS prompt. It requires
Dos 6.0 or better.

This is not the same as WimUAE correct ??

Which is better, WinFELLOW or WinUAE ??

I thought WinUAE runs from a window.

Which way do I go??
And if its WinUAE, where do I D/L it ??
(I tried a couple sites the other day and couldn't
get it. (Files unavailable))

Correct. It's another Amiga emulator.

WinUAE is way better: It's more compatible, emulates AGA and other more sophisticated Amiga hardware (e.g. graphic & sound cards etc.) offers way more features, it's faster,  it's easier to use and gets regular updates.

WinUAE is more ressource hungry - but if your CPU runs at 300 Mhz or more, that doesn't really matter. Get WinUAE.

WinFellow requires Windows (Win9x/NT/2000). There is also (older) Fellow that runs from DOS only.

Correct. Fellow and UAE are different programs.

WinUAE.

Hmm?

Win means Windows. WinUAE can run in window and fullscreen mode.

WinUAE

Ummm ... whats going on with WinUAE sites ??

I tried 'WinUAE.net' also did a google search for
other sites to D/L from.
At the main UAE site all I get is a blank screen when
I go to the Download area and at the mirrors I get page
can't be loaded.
I haven't had any trouble at any other sites...
makes me think its something to do with WinUAE.

Anybody ???

Either your internet connection or browser is hosed.

How could it? WinUAE is not running the web server, and isn't running on your machine.
