Thats the exact card that I use on my A1200.  Works great!
Amiga 500 GVP A530 Accel + SCSI2SD + 8 MB RAM and OS 2.04
Amiga 1200 GVP \\\'030 Accel + 32 MB RAM and OS 3.9 BB3
Amiga 4000 Cybervision 64/3D Mk-II + Warp Engine 4040 128 MB RAM and OS 3.9 BB3
Micro A1 866 Mhz and AmigaOS 4.1
PowerMac G4 1.4 Ghz and MorphOS 3.9
Mac Mini G4 1.5 Ghz and MorphOS 3.9

There is a driver on Aminet at hard\drivr\cnetdevice.lha or
hard\drivr\3c589.lha

Ok cool :D

Next thing, I have a router that assigns pcs with IP addresses, rather than setting them on the pcs. Can the Amiga detect what IP address the router wants to give it?

I don't know but the worst case is you have set the Amiga to an IP outside the automatic range.  I think my router was set to (I switched it off myself) automatically assign 192.168.0.(0-50) so you could set the IP in the range of 192.168.0.(51-255) manually.

Hey, sorry about this, but would this card work also? it's cheaper than the 3com and it doesn't have that annoying connect on cable system(dongle-less?)

Yes, that card would work too. I bought an identical card from the same seller.

Sorry to hijack this thread .
Is there a list of PCMCIA network cards that are known to work with the A1200 ?
Now I've got my "new" old A1200 working I want to get it communicating with the world around it!
In fact I might use it as my main machine at work  :-D  :-D

Should stop me from getting all those M$ worms and viri !

The cnet.device and 3c589.device archives have lists of compatible cards.

Btw: how can i hook up a PC to the AMIGA through the lan card?
