Lotsa cables for you!
« on: April 29, 2004, 09:26:56 AM »
I went and made a geocities site for pics of stuff I'm selling. It's got only cables on it so far, with two sets of pics: larger and smaller. Smaller loads pretty fast on dial-up, which was the intention. There are 46 pics to load on each page, but with multiples, the total cable count is higher than that.

I don't want it ending up on the crawlers, so here's an unlinked URL with an obvous bit to remove:

www.geo cities.comMODORE/cablepics/index.html

There's no prices up; I'll get around to a pricing structure eventually...or not. :-) In the meantime, feel free to make offers. I don't mind haggling.

If I've used any terminology wrong on the site, tell me so I can increase my vocabulary.

That's either a kind of dance, or a shameless promotion. :-)

@Lo

I've got all kinds of 23 pin cables. All the details are listed for each cable, along with a picture.

...are you trying to suggest that my :bump: was forum spam? :-P

Out of curiosity, what were the 23-to-9 cables meant to connect to?  (What "RGBA"-style monitor had a 9 pin connection?)

I changed my mind. I'll go ahead and risk the crawlers. Just didn't want to cause a big hooplah with Geocities, but I have those "robots don't archive this" tags, so at least I know Google won't see it.

Here's an easy to use linky to my cables and hardware for sale site. (Hardware is coming up slowly, A3000UX, A1000 and mouses will be up today.)

I'd appreciate help judging what these things are worth.

@Wayne
If you wanna snag the pictures on the site for the gallery, go ahead. They may be useful after the stuff gets sold.

Priced to sell

(Talking to myself not withstanding. :-))

There's a ton of cables here to get rid of, so I'm going to guess they are worth $1/foot. (Three foot cable = $3, etc.)

Cable lengths are listed on the site, and I also added a list without pictures for mega bandwidth savings. :-)

Offers on multiple cables (or all of them) welcomed.

That's what I thought.  I have a robots.txt file to stop it finding a few pages and it did indeed work for some time but not now.  Google appears to ignore the robots.txt file...

BTW the #9GXE is a PC Gfx card.

I'm using meta tags, rather than robots.txt:
Code: [Select]
<meta name=&quot;robots&quot; content=&quot;noindex,follow&quot;>It's been successful on my other website, so far. (Xoops is putting in those slashes. Dunno why.)

Thanks! I guess it's an old sucker, huh?

that price thing
« Reply #12 on: May 11, 2004, 07:49:49 PM »
In order to quickly make this vast collection of cables disappear, I'll arbitrarily set a price of one dollar per foot. I'm still willing to haggle (especially if you want everything), but $1/ft is the non-haggle price.
