Stretch S5000 SW configurable processor
« on: April 27, 2004, 08:35:31 PM »
Hmm...could this one be used for an Amiga 68K accelerator/emulator or perhaps AGA/Amiga in-a-chip-blistering-fast sort of thing?

Just curious though, I have no idea if it's even possible or a good idea... :-P

It won't execute M68K code, so in that sense no.

You could possibly optimize parts of the emulation with this chip, however. How well that would work and compare against today's fast x86 chips is unknown.

A-ha. I thought you could just teach this cpu any language, like 68k code or something similar.

Then I read the entire page and learned it executed pure C code. Doh. My mistake  :-)

Hello
Xilinx had created PowerPC based FPGA CPU.
Is it possible to use this kind of CPU on future Amiga related boards for fast 68K emulation?
