@Coder,

And what better place then asking it here.
Asking Christian privately via e-mail would actually be (1000%) much more appropriate.  It's his question and his alone to answer. If he doesn't want to answer it, you have no right to an answer.

Asking publicly is simply trying to fan the typically stupid melodrama that doesn't need to exist.  You've been around long enough to know that.

@Coder,
Before reading this, realize that I'm not addressing this to you at all.  I'm just explaining my continued frustrations.

@Plaz,

Quote
You seem a bit more stresed than your normal Zin cool self.
I guess I'm getting tired (again) of constantly defending myself against the vocal minority of the very community that I'm trying to serve.  Especially over petty {bleep} that doesn't really matter.

It's worse than "Days of our Lives". (the soap opera) There's always some stupid melodrama going on that simply doesn't need to exist.  In this particular case, everyone on all three sites are whining about the removal of the Moobunny link from ANN.  Fricking petty and it does wear on you quickly.

Instead of trying to be constructive and move the community ahead, the 5% of the vocal idiots in this community are hell bent on dividing and destroying every single little bit of anything that's left.  Apparently the 95% of silent majority doesn't care enough to stop them.

Then of course, we've got the larger issue of two small companies fighting it out, each trying to bleed the community for all we're worth, each about dead, each lending it's own "scent" of drama and in my opinion, it would be better if neither company were involved at all and the Amiga (as we remember it) were just left to die.

(edit : no, I don't really mean that "left to die" statement, but I'm just not enjoying this soap opera right now because of the aforementioned attacks on my character).

If I seem less than Zen about that, I apologize.

Wayne

Well I don't agree there. You see it was a normal question in my opinion and no flame/fud came from it in this thread. Also there are moderators to keep it down if things got out of hand. And I also believe that everyone here knows that a question like that coming from me is ment honest and not to disturb things.

If next time anyone feels that such a question is not correct, close the thread or remove (moderators) it. I don't want it to turn into this when I only want my question answered. And it got answered so that's done. :-)

Apparently the 95% of silent majority doesn't care enough to stop them.

Or fear the 5% and get labelled a troll of some sorts.. Guess it's a bit like how dictatorships (sp?) can stay in control with a minority surpressing lots of others..

Well I don't agree there.
Then we'll agree to disagree.  It's always a better idea to go to the source than rely on heresay.  Therefore while it's a legitimate question, the manner of asking it is rather suspect.

Besides, how pissed off would you and others be if I simply locked the thread, removed it, or worse yet, said "Ask Christian" then locked it?

Much respect,

Wayne

No, not meaning amiga.org is a dictatorship or suggesting it.

I mean people are afraid of only a few people while there are more of them then the bullies (again sp ?). I never really understood that..

A.org is not a dictatorship.

It's more like a Pub, with Wayne as the Landlord :-)

feh! no one is afraid of anyone.
it's just that most of us either make jokes (at the "trolls") or ignore them. some of us actually have better things to do.
If i see an opportunity for a joke, i'll go for it. otherwise, it's boring to argue with wackjobs.

Maybe the people here, but not on ann/moobunny.. And it does seem common in the real world (school, workplaces) as well.. 1 big {bleep} picking on several others.. (who could kick his @$$ easily if working together ;) )

see my  :banana:

Erm.... I could comment on that one, but it might be a bit to....

Well, here's my twopenneth worth, even if no one wants to read it.  :-)

First, ANN is Christian's site and he has the right to add and remove any links as he sees fit.

Second, it is my opinion that he has started using links and  editorials to play political games, first lurching towards one extreme, then another. This isn't clever IMHO and loses him brownie points in my eyes.

Third, if removing MooBunny is indeed a political gesture I think it is misplaced. The Bunny is anarchic and people rarely pull their punches there, but I have not seen any evidence of political institutionalised bias for any party. I've never seen John batting for one side or another at any time.

Lastly, if the Bunny is really running on a Genesi server (is it? It's certainly news to me), wouldn't it have suffered along with other such arrangements in the Big Meltdown?

I like the Bunny. It's messy, obnoxious place with a very low signal to noise ratio, but it is also the only place one can call a spade a shovel without being chastised or moderated for offending certain people's sensitivities or for questioning their honesty.

I think Christian is wrong to use his site as a weapon in his personal war (however justified that war may be), but it is his site and ultimately he will do whatever he pleases on it.

:roflmao: hmmm, I'd never noticed that before.... It's not just an English thing... it's certainly a British thing.

Anyway right now, my Low carb diet means I can't drink beer which isn't going down too well... I'm drinking maybe a pint of water an hour :-(

It's his site

No doubt about that. But I suspect it has to do with what I mentioned.

Christian is upset with Genesi for several reasons, and has cleaned out anything even remotely related from his site. If you don't know why, go browse the ann.lu history ...
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)
