Sd/ff?mediator?..help

Hi people:)
Ok im new 2 the tech side of amiga i got a tower last year and i aint finished yet.But anyway if i buy an external sd/ff will i still need it when i buy a mediator with a graphics card?i dont know 2much about this stuff so any help will be great thanks just as i am gonna buy a mediator soon and was gonna buy a sd.ff on saturday but is threre any point?

As far as I recall, anything that bypasses the OS
completely will still open on a 15khz (TV/Composite
monitor style) screen, and some older software may
not be able to be promoted, so a scandoubler may
still be a good idea for old programs that cannot
be made to run through the graphics card on your
Mediator.

as I understand it, -D- is correct.  In fact, there are two outputs you will need to deal with on the setup, once you add a mediator and gfx card.  You'll need the Amiga video output for non-gfx aware software (which you would be using the sd/ff on) and then you'll also have the mediator's gfx card output, which will be your RTG screen modes.  Literally, you may need to switch monitor connections, if you LAmiga-M from an RTG screen to a chipset screen, or vice-versa.  Kind of a bummer.  :-(
