A WHDLoad install is in the works.  For now, you can try running it with an assign and a degrader.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

@adolescent
I hope you could give me details on how to do that? What I did before was copied the whole cd to an empty partition and boot from there. I doesn't work. Is there something wrong I did??
Also, my IDEFix'97 was not able to boot from it(If you mean boot from CD). I need a certain software(CD32boot) to run. It doesn't work on CDTV's.
Which degrader do you mean? :-?  Thanks again.

A 'degrader' is a utility that will (in theory) downgrade your Amiga to a lesser spec.

There has been a pretty sophisticated one going by the name (if I remember correctly) 'degrader' which emulated ECS, slowed down the CPU, turned off fast ram etc.

With an A1200 you can degrade your Amiga from the early startup menu (hold both mouse buttons during a reset) and 'disable cpu caches' and select 'original chipset' (or something like that)

Running 'relokick' could help as well, that program loads Kickstart 1.3 onto ram to enhance compatibility. I remember that some old OCS games would need both a degrader and an older kickstart.

As Adolescent suggested using the 'assign' command in shell may also help. Assuming that you are copying the contents of the CD into a drawer in your harddrive, you have somehow to let the computer know where to look for them. That is because by default most games/apps etc will look in their parent folder (volume) of the medium they came with (whether disk, CD) for such things such as fonts, libs etc.

The command assign, hijacks all requests for a specific volume name (e.g. WrathDm:) and assigns them to a folder in your harddrive.

syntax:
assign [original path] [destination path]

e.g assign WrathDm: dh0:games/WrathOfDemon

replace WrathDm: with the CD's actual volume name (the name that appears in workbench as soon as you insert the CD) and the latter part with the full path of the drawer you copied the files onto.

Another tip: look into the CD's startup-sequence for any things it may be doing prior to loading the game.

I hope this makes sense. Good luck running it.

You'll probably find that most titles will work fine by just doing this, I would have thought that Degrader/Relokick would only be needed for a few stubborn titles.

Most CDTV titles that I have tried on my A1200 and CD32 have worked fine without even having to visit the Amiga Early Startup Menu. CDTV titles such as Sim City, Trivial Pursuit, and Lemmings have worked fine for me with standard AGA, and most others will probably be fine too.

Steve.

:-( Well guys, After a lot of tweeking.. I still can't make it run. I tried 'assign', a 'degrader'. Booting still on HDD, and CD using a program 'BOOT CD32'. Upon Bootup at Earlystartup I don't seem to find CD0: Just a CC0: (I won't boot there either) and the other partitions of my HD0: to HD5:. I still don't have a 'relokick'. The screen just goes black with a mouse pointer, then stops. I had to reboot it. I also tried to execute the main file. I get a guru(software failure #80000020). I guess I'm stuck with this game for a while.
According to the manual 'The remote control operates as Joy  or Mouse..' It emulates them when (ie magic potion activation) needed to enter numbers. Maybe this has to do with it? :-? Guess it's not compatible.
Anyway, thanks for the help. Unless someone has played it(Wrath of the Demon-ReadySoft Inc.) on their A1200, I'm open to suggestions. :-?

I don't know the game in question, but here are a few general hints:

You don't need to boot from the CD. Usually, the boot process just starts the game executable (check "CD0:s/startup-sequence" for the name of the executable and if any other things are done before running the game). Try to start the game from Workbench (if it has an icon) or from shell.

It's a CDTV title, so it might have problems with your AGA chipset and the fact that your computer does not have a 68000 CPU. You need to get a degrader that disables both the AGA features and the caches of your CPU without rebooting. Try KillAGA (Aminet) for a start ("killaga "), if that doesn't work try TUDE (enables you to disable FastRAM, AGA features, CPU caches etc.).

Unless the game requires OS 1.3 chances are good you'll manage to run it this way.

Yes I tried it already, 'tude' and 'killaga'. Even tried 'RunIt', 'Lame' or a certain 'RunS**t'. . Tried starting the 'demon.exe' from shell or WB. All don't come to terms.
:-?  Maybe it really needs a 68k and a real rom 1.3(A500 w/CDROM or A570). It's a bonus software Softhut gave me when I bought my IDEfix and Interfaces. Thanks again. :-)
